Mike chats with Amanda Tingle-Oline, the College & Career Counselor at AIM Academy- a small private school outside of Philadelphia- and a school counseling graduate student at Gwynedd Mercy University. Amanda made the shift from English teacher to College Counseling a few years back and has loved every minute of her new role in education.

Mike sits down with Independent Educational Consultant (IEC) Mary Harkins. Mary is the owner and principal consultant with Prescott College Consulting. She works with student from around the country to access the college admissions process and find their best-fit postsecondary institution, or design and fruitful postsecondary plan.

Mary is part of a growing number of IECs in the world that are trying to disrupt the college access pipeline. Because of large student:counselor ratios in schools, IECs are an integral part of the college process for some families that are overwhelmed by the college process.

Join the conversation with Michael Matt, a current Senior at Temple University. Michael is majoring in Communication, and plans to graduate in the spring of 2019.

As a majority of students who attend college in America are attending either Community College, or large Public institutions, Michael and Mike chat about what it's like to find success at Temple- one of Pennsylvania's large publicly-affiliated universities.

Michael sheds some light on intrinsic motivation, developing strategies for class engagement, and accessing relationships with professors, particularly in larger courses.

Mike chats with Laura Rup, the Admissions Director at AIM Academy- a small indpendent school outside of Philadelphia. Laura is the former Admissions Director and Director of College Counseling at the Phelps School. She also worked in admissions at the University of Pennsylvania and the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University.

Laura sheds some light on admissions practices of Highly Selective institutions- those with below 25% acceptance rates. The conversation focuses on understanding that admissions offices are run by human beings with thoughts and feelings, and that they are indeed competitive.
