Alex Vella ('05) is a co-founder of Five Vineyard in Mernda, alongside his parents, Paul and Caroline, and siblings, Olivia (’08) and Sam (’06). Alex explains how their transformed their family property, which once housed goats and cattle, into a vineyard with an on-site restaurant, cellar door and function centre. He reflects on what has been a very steep learning curve but one managed through the support of family.

It might be considered 'niche' by some and it's a newbie in the context of Ivanhoe Grammar's rich sporting history, but water polo is building momentum among students and Alumni. The Old Ivanhoe Water Polo club was established in 2016 and the club has already tasted premiership glory in both the men's and women's competition, but it's a culture of friendship, learning and growth that the leaders are most proud of. 

In this episode, Lauren Chan ('07) and Jessica McCarthy ('2012) share the club's origin story, reflect on its success and delve into what makes the club so special.

James Moio (‘09) and Andrew Sheehan (‘09) founded the tech startup Kepple in 2021. Kepple has multiple platforms, the most well-known being Spark Relief Teachers, a mobile application that connects casual relief teachers with Schools throughout Victoria. James and Andrew have been friends since meeting at Ivanhoe Grammar in Year 4, both graduating from Ridgeway campus and going on to study at university and have careers in Teaching and Engineering respectively. Living together during COVID they realised it was time for a career change.

Martin Goh graduated in 2008 as the School Captain of Plenty campus. Post studying a Science degree at Melbourne University followed by a Master’s in marketing – he went on to forge a career in the luxury watch industry and is a living example of how to merge vocation with personal passion.

Adriano Del Monte (’06) is an international football television presenter based in Milan. An Italian/Australian, who most notably became the first Australian to present for the beIN Sports network at its international HQ in Qatar. Currently working for seven networks across five continents, Adriano covers top European football and international competitions. He also works as an event host for FIFA and UEFA, at events such as FIFA’s The Best awards Green Carpet show and World Cup playoff draws, as well as UEFA’s season opening Europa League and Conference League draws in 2022. While covering major events including the 2010, 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups, 2020 EUROs, tennis grand slams and more, Adriano has also interviewed some of the world’s biggest stars including Lionel Messi, Jose Mourinho, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Gianluigi Buffon and Valentino Rossi. Adriano can currently be seen on ESPN, beIN Sports, BT Sport, Sony Sports India, SuperSport, Optus Sport and Stan Sport.

The Old Ivanhoe Grammarians Football Club is the most established associated sporting organisations of the OIGA and in its 50 plus year history, the football club has established itself as one of the leading VAFA football outfits. The club last won a senior premiership in 2023, and in 2025 the club has its eyes on another cup, this time in the highly competitive premier-B section. President and vice-president, Chris Branigan (’97) and Sienna Whiteman (’17), both former students of the school, join Michael Basckos (’09) for a season preview.

Lana Murphy (’10) is a Quill-award winning journalist who joined the Nine News Melbourne team in 2017. As a Crime Reporter, Lana witnesses the worst (and best) of humanity almost daily and takes pride in accurate and authentic storytelling. You'll likely see her knocking on doors wherever there's police tape, searching for CCTV or chasing criminals down the city's court precinct. She has a close working relationship with the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation and the Fighting PTSD VicPol movement.
