Embodiment, Movement as Medicine, and Remembering the Wisdom of the Body with Tia Healey-Jellick
In this episode of The Embodied Creatrix, we enter a raw, grounded, and deeply embodied conversation on movement as medicine, nature as teacher, and the body as a living oracle. Join Debbie Lim Creative and Healey-Jellick as they explore what it truly means to live in devotion to embodiment, to dance with life rather than against it, and to reclaim our natural, wild humanity.
Tia Healey is an embodied, wild, wise woman — a somatic dance teacher, 5Rhythms dancer, rongoa practitioner, movement lover, and passionate advocate for embodiment. Her work weaves spirit (wairua) and body (tinana) through potent somatic soundscapes, guiding others into deep body awareness, awakening, dismantling, and integration.
What began as creating herbal balms for fun evolved into Native Healing Herbals, a thriving nature-rooted business. Tia leads workshops for adults and school groups on body wisdom, plant medicine, natural remedies, ancestral healing, and embodiment. She is deeply devoted to the cycles of the Earth and the innate intelligence within our bodies — here to remind us of our power to heal, restore, and transform.
In this conversation, Tia courageously shares her story of soul evolution, including walking through childhood sexual abuse, suicide attempts, addiction, abusive relationships, homelessness, postpartum depression, spiritual collapse, ego death, and full nervous system breakdown. As a mother of four, she speaks honestly about navigating mental illness, eating disorders, meth addiction, and profound trauma — and how embodiment, movement, and meeting the shadows with integrity became the pathway back to life.
Together, Debbie and Tia explore embodiment not as a concept, but as a lived devotion — where creativity is not something we do, but who we are. This episode is an invitation to strip back conformity, reclaim our wildness, and remember how to feel, move, and live fully in our bodies.
In this episode, we explore:
Embodiment as medicine and a way of lifeMovement and dance as portals to healing and remembranceMental health, addiction, and meeting the shadowlands with integrityWomb wisdom and deep body knowingNature as teacher and guideCreativity as lived expression, not performanceWhat it means to live your work rather than compartmentalize itReclaiming our humanity beyond systems that suppress alivenessTia is a living reminder that embodiment is not about bypassing pain, but about being willing to feel everything — and choosing to rise again and again. If you have ever felt disconnected from your body, your truth, or your natural rhythm, this conversation offers a fierce and loving remembering.
