While coping with PTSD from a birth trauma, Bekah discovered coding and went from English teacher to software developer. She is also a mom of 4, an active member of the online coding community, and co-Founder of virtualcoffee.io.
Everything about her inspires me, check out episode 27 when she first came on the podcast and talked about her journey to becoming a software developer.
In this episode we talk about:
- How it’s been in her first year of being a dev…the best and the worst
- Biases she’s experienced in the industry as a mother and career changer
- How virtual coffee came to be, how she built it, and who it’s for
I really enjoyed this conversation with Bekah, and I hope you do, too!
Bekah graduated from the Flatiron School Software Engineering program in May of 2019. Since then she has specialized in front-end development, co-founded a developer community called Virtual Coffee, launched a blog to write about the trauma she went through, and has continued to mom her four kids.
