The Empty Spaces: Journals on Enduring Infertility and Grief episodes

  • The Infertility Journals: When Your Dog Saves Your Life (Breast Cancer Diagnosis)

In this episode I share two very emotional recordings I made just after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis in late 2022. Afterwards, I discuss what this means for my TTC journey and how at first, being in the middle of trying to start a family affects which treatments I want to do. Special thanks to my dog for saving my life. I don't emphasize enough how it was because of him that I went to the doctor about the lump in my breast. You can hear him in the 2nd recording thrashing around and licking himself. Miss you good boy.

  • The Infertility Journals: Changing My Mind About IVF

In this episode I talk about and share 3 recordings I made about our first appointment with a Reproductive Endocrinologist, struggling with the fear that I may never have the family I want, and desperately deciding to go ahead with an IVF cycle. These recordings are leading up to a health scare and diagnosis right around the corner that completely change my life moving forward.

  • The Infertility Journals: Frustration, Hope and Anticipation

Today I talk a little about where I started, where I am now and we go back and listen to a version of me several years ago when I was right in the midst of TTC. It was a year and a half into my journey and I had decided to start recording what I was going through. Trying to get pregnant in my 40's was proving to be a lot more difficult than I had anticipated and I needed an outlet. I was also hoping to document the journey to eventually share once I got pregnant to give hope to other women trying to start a family later in life. A lot happened along the way, and I'd love for you to join me as I work through what turned into the most challenging time of my life.
