The End Is At Hand | A Message from 1 Peter 4:7–11

Listen Later

In this message from Idle Hands Ministries, we walk through 1 Peter 4:7–11 and explore what Scripture truly means when it says “the end of all things is at hand.” Rather than chasing predictions about the end of the world, this sermon challenges believers to focus on how we are called to live right now.

Throughout history people have predicted the end of time, from failed prophetic dates to cultural fears during global crises. Yet Scripture reminds us that no one knows the exact day or hour. Instead, God’s patience reveals His mercy. He delays judgment because He desires repentance and salvation for as many people as possible.

The End Is At Hand

Peter’s message is not about fear. It is about responsibility.

If the end is truly near, believers should live with clarity, purpose, and urgency. In this sermon we examine five practical instructions from 1 Peter that shape how followers of Christ should live in the present:

• Be self-controlled and sober-minded in prayer
Love one another deeply, even when it is difficult
• Practice hospitality without complaining
Serve others using the gifts God has given you
• Live in a way that glorifies God in everything

This message is both a warning and an encouragement. God’s patience means there is still time for people to turn to Him. But it also means believers must live faithfully, using their lives, words, and actions to point others to Christ.

If the end is at hand, the question is not when will it happen?
The question is how will we live until it does?

Watch, reflect, and be encouraged to live with purpose, love others deeply, and serve faithfully for the glory of Jesus Christ.
