What comes to mind when you think of today’s 22 year old American male? For me, I think of a guy who doesn’t read, spends much of his life watching Netflix and gaming online, probably hasn’t moved out from living with mommy and daddy, and has a lot of tendencies toward passivity. 22 year old Logan is none of these things. Logan didn’t grow up wise, but he’s wise now. Logan didn’t grow up a reader, but he’s a reader now. He’s highly competent socially and has a high emotional quotient. And he’s a godly man.

One of the marks of a godly man is he stands his ground, even if he has to stand alone. How do we speak truth in a cancel culture society? What’s it like to stand for what scripture says when almost no one’s got your back? What if you posted something on social media that almost a million people viewed and MANY disagreed with vehemently? What if you’re only twenty years old and you had to live with the backlash? He also talks functional saviors that we go to when we should be putting our trust in Christ instead.

Aaron Renn is the man behind the podcast and newsletter called “The Masculinist.” He’s a deep thinker who writes prolifically on the topics of masculinity and godly manhood. Aaron is ivy league smart, and he’s got some different perspectives on godly manhood from anyone I’ve come across. I loved this conversation.
