We see a lot of schools, teachers and social media posts about American English vs. British English. As if there were only these two language variants in the world. This kind of approach to English learning is elitist and it excludes the majority of English speakers in today’s world: non-natives.
This approach to English learning slows down your ability to communicate with different groups of people. It limits your fluency. In this week’s podcast I talked about the importance of becoming a global English speaker and the benefits of that in today’s international job market.

Does the secret to better English mean learning more grammar and vocabulary? A lot of people think this because a lot of people are told this. But here's our question to you? How much of what you know are you NOT using already?
In this podcast, Dan challenges the idea that learning more and more grammar and vocabulary will help you speak confidently. If you haven't practiced what you have already learned enough, your speaking struggles will continue.

A great way to keep yourself motivated to learn and improve your English skills is by listening to other people’s success stories. I invited one of our students to chat with me about her learning journey and shared our conversation in this week’s podcast. This client talked about her struggles, her wins, what she did to overcome her fear of speaking and develop confidence and fluency in English conversations. After working incredibly hard on her skills, she managed to pass a difficult job interview and landed an incredible job with an international school as a Spanish teacher. If I were you, I would go listen to the podcast right now because what she did is also possible for YOU!

There is only one of you in the world. Nobody can replace you and there are things that only you can communicate. Don’t you agree that English is the best language to do that in? So more and more people can hear what you have to say?
In this week’s podcast Mari talks about that and it might just be the little dose of inspiration you need today.
