This is our first episode on our Conversation Series! Welcome!
The department of design at Linnaeus University, in Sweden, operates under the concept of “Plus Change”, which names our programs, for example, Design+Change and Visual Communication + Change. But way more than naming our courses, “+Change” guides what we do, and how we do it. We understand that design and communication shape the world around us, and we are very aware of the state of collapse this world is at the moment. So, when we speak of +Change, we are talking about directing ourselves to regenerated futures; we are speaking of a transitional movement supported by ecological justice, inclusion, artistic expression, material traditions, and relationality. In three international programs, we practice future building while respecting our past, our diverse cultures and territories.
To tell us a bit more about this concept and how it is practised at LNU, we gathered in our conversation three amazing designers, researchers and educators from the Design Department. Meet Mathilda Tham, Kristoffer Gansing and Petra Lilja.

Below is our Manifesto:
We are Entanglists from the Global South living in the Global North. To be an entanglist means to be a connector between diverse perspectives and matters, tangible or intangible. Entanglists seek to recognize relations around them in order to create, facilitate and host gatherings where different threads (themes, topics, interests), roots (backgrounds, traditions, knowledges), and ideas (methods, visions, understandings) can be connected and mixed to generate new imaginaries, relationships and collaborations.
We are continuously exploring this skill through different projects and formats. This podcast is one of the ways in which we envision creating spaces for entanglements which are accessible and open to diversity and emergence. Our research projects, our teaching, and our community of practice are other forms of exploring what is to become entangled with the world around us while walking towards regenerated futures.
These different initiatives are based on a set of shared values that we use to foster meeting spaces of dialogue, learning, and exchange from within and beyond design and academia.
Other values we hold: Curiosity; Transdisciplinarity; Intersectionality; Vulnerability.
We are a platform of/for people changing the world through and beyond design.
