Vimla formerly qualified as a Registered Mental Health professional, working both in the NHS and in the private sector followed by a career as an International Training/Business Consultant in the corporate sector.  

She is also trained in Ayurveda natural health modality.  Having herself suffered from burnout and stressful life events, she continues her learning to embed natural wellness within mental health and focuses on root causes rather than symptoms.

This episode is a little longer than usual, partly because my guest Neal Veglio and I both talk for a living, so it's a bit hard to get us to stop, and partly because we're both passionate about business podcasts.

The difference between us is that I'm an enthusiastic beginner, learning as I go, while Neal is an expert.  

He was probably one of the first podcasters in the country, building on a successful career in radio, and his business Podknows Productions has a simple mission - to help businesses to turn their customers into ‘fans’.  This is achieved by putting together podcasts which take away the need to sell, and instead draw attention to brands and build relationships using value offerings. With a combination of traditional radio advertising methods, and unique marketing ideas and concepts.  As a result, Podknows’ clients are enjoying more credibility, awareness, and thought-leader status. 

In this episode, he doesn't tell you all his secrets - he can't, even in 40 minutes!  However, if you're sort of thinking of your business starting its own podcast, he explains why that;s a good idea.  And if you've made the decision to do it, he gives some great tips to start you down that road.  That includes first considering the "why", which must be the question that shapes your podcast.  And then he talks about hardware, software, distribution and more.  

So on balance, I think we did well to cram it in to 40 minutes!

Amd even if you're not interested in having your business start its own podcast, it's a great insight into the thought and processes that go (or should go!) into all the podcasts to which you listen, be they business, comedy, travel or whatever.
