What begins as three ordinary convention trips, a long-awaited Dragon Con weekend, a Supernatural road trip to Orlando, and an Anime Expo cosplay getaway, turns into something far more disturbing than bad luck, intense fandom, or a stranger taking things too seriously.
This is not a story about conventions being dangerous.
It is a story about what happens when excitement lowers awareness, when costumes create confusion, and when someone in the crowd stops pretending.
🌘 STORY DETAILS
Story 1: You Boys Should Have Kept Driving
Location: Tifton, Georgia / Atlanta, Georgia
Authur Pierce, Dexter Tayler, and Adam Johnson have been looking forward to Dragon Con all year.
With Atlanta hotel prices too high, the three friends book a cheap motel outside Tifton, Georgia, and drive up from Jacksonville in Dexter’s aging 1998 Honda Accord.
But one careless night at a rundown roadside motel turns their dream weekend into something else entirely.
Their car is broken into. Their clothes, collectibles, comics, and signed items are stolen. And when they decide to keep going anyway, the horror follows them all the way to Atlanta, where a vendor booth at Dragon Con reveals that what happened at the motel may not have been random at all.
Story 2: He Thought We Were the Winchesters
Location: Lawrence, Kansas / Orlando, Florida
Jason Lawrence and Mark Collins grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, watching Supernatural and dreaming about taking a real road trip in Mark’s restored black 1967 Chevy Impala.
When they finally drive to Orlando for The Salute to Supernatural, everything feels like the perfect fan experience.
People recognize the car. Fans ask for photos. Strangers call them Sam and Dean.
But one man dressed as Yellow Eyes stops seeing two fans in costume and starts believing he has found something real.
What begins as fandom slowly becomes stalking, obsession, and a terrifying reminder that some people do not come to conventions to escape reality.
They come to make reality match the story in their head.
Story 3: The Diary Knew Where We’d Be
Location: Los Angeles, California
Taylor Reed and her boyfriend, Chris Moreno, travel to Los Angeles for Anime Expo dressed as Yuno Gasai and Yukiteru Amano from Future Diary.
Day one feels perfect. Photos, panels, ramen, sushi, convention crowds, and the kind of shared excitement that makes everything feel safe.
Then, on day two, their phones begin receiving messages written like diary entries.
The messages know where they are.
What they will do next.
What they are afraid of.
At first, it feels impossible, like their phones have become real future diaries. But the truth may be even worse, because someone may not be predicting their future at all.
They may be close enough to control it.
