The Entrepreneurial Enclave

A talented and dedicated author/writer, Elijah Foreman has been moving his pen for quite some time. As a young child, he was taught how to structure a stage play and that would birth his writing journey. At that time he wrote as a hobby and had no idea that this would one day be his career choice.

In 2010, at 18 years old Elijah made the decision to find a way to get into the urban lit industry. After having a chance conversation with Wahida Clark and NeNe Capri in his hometown of Trenton NJ, Elijah was motivated as ever to one day have his books read by the masses.

In 2013, at 21 years old Elijah would finally get his chance when he signed his first publishing deal and released his first book a month later. Over the next three years, Elijah had many pitfalls and setbacks hinder his progress but he kept pushing forward. Finally, in 2016 Elijah decided that it was time for a change. That change would be his own company, Foreman Unapologetic Novels.

Now, at 30 years of age, Elijah feels like he has dealt with every setback head on and is still here pushing his pen. And, with 29 books currently out, Elijah always lets it be known that he is not stopping any time soon. With podcast host and screenwriter being added to his list of accomplishments this year, there is plenty more of Elijah Foreman soon to come. Stay tuned.

Bryan Ghant, an International Best-Selling creative writing author, was born May 11th, 1973, raised by his mother and step-father, and educated in the Hamilton and Trenton, New Jersey school district. 

Bryan grew a passion for writing and entertainment with now over 40 years of experience. As a creative writer, his best works come through topics such as African American Urban Literature, politics, and the historical genres including sports and poetry.

While incarcerated, Bryan tapped into his creative writing skills to stay focused on his release. After 18 years of holding onto his manuscript, Bryan finally released his book titled; Cut Throat: Only One Can Win. His book hit Amazon’s best-sellers list in two categories, Urban Fiction and African American Fiction the first day of its release in the United States, Brazil, and the United Kingdom.

In addition to writing, Bryan enjoys artist development, music production, urban photography and podcast hosting, and content creation.

He has participated in many urban entertainment outreach efforts and continues to raise awareness on many topics that affect the urban community. He is currently working on several writing projects and plans to bring more content to his readers.

Gene Bouie is a senior level management executive with extensive and diverse experience in strategic leadership, process management, business development, quality, operations, and customer service. He has over 40 years of leadership and management experience, retiring from ETS after serving in the role of Senior Director in the Graduate and College Programs business area.

Following his retirement from ETS, he founded Tahsin Consulting Group, LLC, a management consulting firm located in Trenton, NJ. Gene most recently had the honor of serving in the role of Director of Operations for the Henry J. Austin Health Center a FQHC also based in Trenton and now he serves as the Executive Director of the Training and Development Institute at the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey.

Gene acquired an Associate’s degree in Political Science, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, both from Thomas Edison State University. He also holds a Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification for the improvement of process quality. Gene also has a non-profit board consultant certification acquired through BoardSource in Washington, D.C.

He served as a Trustee for the Capital Area YMCA for nearly eight years, and functions as a member of the Trenton, N. J. School Board where he has served as Chair of the Board Operations and Finance Committee for the past six years. Currently Gene serves as an advisor of the African American Cultural Collaborative of Mercer County.

Tonjua is a first time author of the book “Caring for those who Once Cared for You” (The Power of Self-care While Navigating the Caregiving Journey).

She began her role as a caregiver approximately three years ago for mom and her handicapped older sister-who she had to relocate from WV to New Jersey. After discovering the many pitfalls that come along with this role, and the difficulty in sometimes finding people and information needed to assist (especially as a black caregiver), she was prompted to start a movement by finding ways to begin sharing resources she found which led to writing her first book.

Tonjua is an advocate for those who care for their loved ones with an emphasis for those caring for loved ones with Dementia/Alzheimer. In her new journey of being an advocate for caregivers she will be offering emotional support resources  and providing resources as it relates to this very serious topic. As she has also discovered the importance of taking care of self as well she has since found a  support group called "The Binti Circle" (black daughters caring for mothers) and has recently participated in a research study called  “Caregiving While Black” supported by the Emory Nursing College.

As she continue on the path of this new journey her goal is bring the role of caregiving more to the forefront - by speaking about it, writing about it and sharing resources that can help and support others struggling in the role of what to do next.
