Last week was Earth Week but every week is Earth Week. Let’s talk about the 3Rs+.

The story of Jesus’s last week of life is uncomfortable. A God who sends his son to die because humanity is evil is uncomfortable. And possibly wrong, at least with the emphasis that has been placed on it. Focusing on Jesus’s life this week will be uncomfortable. A king who rides a donkey. A king who dines with a hodgepodge of people. A king who washes feet as a slave. Take all the things that can make most of us uncomfortable and watch Jesus do them naturally. Jesus makes us uncomfortable because he calls to be in relationship with people unlike ourselves.

I asked to see God and was asked “in what form.”

How many times do I ask for things? What about when I don’t ask? Recognizing God in the everyday is something I’ve moved away from, but it may be a practice to reintroduce.

Take that walk. Observe nature. When you tell yourself you don’t have the time to spend in nature or with God talk back and say you don’t have time not to.

Take a few minutes for this guided nature observation.

God calls us to love and Jesus modeled loving. But, who are “those” people in your life that you’re finding hard to love?

Can reflecting on the parable of the sower and obedience overcome despair? Yes.

Reflecting on the writings that help us understand the Bible better. Archeological findings, diverse voices and experiences can give us new perspectives on the Christian scriptures.

This week has been uncomfortable as a Christian. Christian nationalism is on display and it’s dangerous. The basic tenant of our faith, to love God and love neighbor, has been trampled. We must say something.
