BLADE Show 2014: Blade show is almost here, so what are our hosts looking forward to?

Adam: I want to see if anything new is coming out of OKC, I’m also looking forward to picking up some new blades.  My annual Fiddleback, and Dogwood Custom Knives.  Seeing what the guys at Habilis Bushtools are doing this year.  I’m also really interested to see some of the new start ups that always have new and interesting things.

Robby:Dangers in getting locked into a mentality, Style, or ideal, to the point that inhibits your ability to adapt to the situation. We see all the time in the Survival based TV shows, where the hosts have a Military methodology, or a Primitive methodology, and all have their place, however, being locked into any way of doing things at the expense of the ability to adapt could be life threatening.

 

Puppy Update:

Rowdy killed a rabbit and I was a fairly proud papa. My wife on the other hand was very quick to warn me that this better not affect the way he treats other household pets (Her Cats).

Polar pure, was a small vial of Iodine Crystals, that when water was added, produced a iodine solution for treating water to make it potable. It appears that the California based business has been shut down by regulations by the DEA and the state because iodine crystals can be used in some fashion for the making of Meth.

This week Joe Flowers is back on the Podcast, now the Owner of Bushcraft Global, Joe is an avid outdoorsman and instructor.  This friendly American lives in the mountains of North Carolina where he freezes his rear off every winter while dreaming of the jungle and the animals in it.  Following his love for the outdoors, Joe Graduated NC State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology with a Minor in Entomology.  All throughout that time, he ventured across the United States and beyond searching for animals, and learning primitive and survival skills. Joe had always been into knives and outdoor primitive living ever since he was a child, and with that, he started writing for Tactical Knives magazine. Since then, Joe has gone on to write for Self Reliance Illustrated,  Backpacker magazine, Swat magazine, Survival quarterly, Backwoodsman, New pioneer, and American Frontiersman to name a few.
