  • Flopcast 607: This Peppermint Hangover

Flopcast episode 607! It’s a typical holiday episode, in that we’re discussing Julia Child, Pop Rocks, and Newsies. But there are some vaguely holiday-themed subjects too, including Kornflake’s newfound candy cane addiction, Kevin’s recent guest appearance on Gleaming the Tube (discussing old Christmas specials!), and a round or two of the Figgy Pudding Pages. We’re keeping it super-short this week and passing the savings on to you. Go do something festive.

  • The 42cast Episode 193: Critical State

Month’s ago, Seth Rogen made waves in the entertainment industry with his comments on criticism while guesting on The Diary of a CEO podcast. His comments spoke to the emotional pain suffered by entertainers who are the objects of negative reviews. His words called into question whether critics understand the impact of what they’re writing and implied that reviews shouldn’t include negative material because of its impact on others. In this episode our panel of actors and reviewers examine these comments and ask ourselves “Is there a place for criticism?” “What should or shouldn’t be allowed?” “Should only the professionals be allowed to do it?” We also discuss the role of the critic in society, understanding your audience, and how to use tact. Don’t forget to stay after the closing song to listen to our outtakes.

Due to time constraints this episode does not have a five-minute controversy.

This week Ashley, Keith, Gary, and Stephen join the cast.

  • Shawn, You Move Too Fast – Soul Forge #309

Shawn, you move too fast. At least, some people seem to think so.

Welcome to the final episode of 2023!

On this show, Shawn and Leah look back on the year that was. After the break, they talk about some future plans. Were you aware of everything that took place in their lives? Are you rooting for the success of their lives together? Shawn, you move too fast is something Shawn has heard more than once. Is he dumb, or does he have unlimited hope and confidence in his decisions? Only you can decide the answer to these questions. The future is wide open, and it seems Shawn and Leah may have gotten it right this time!

In January, Shawn was dating and living with Melissa. By the end of March that relationship was over. Shawn was trying to live his best life, but the universe had other plans. When depression or unhappiness sets in, there’s only one thing to do! You must start a new collection. This time it was Hot Wheels! Meanwhile, Leah was living her life and planning cruises!

In April Shawn and Leah had dinner together. Shawn put his property in Timmins up for sale. By May, the pair were a couple and planning a future. In June, the house Shawn lived in with Melissa was sold and Shawn’s stuff went into storage and he was sharing an apartment with his brother Robin. However, most nights were spent with Leah. The summer was gone before we knew it. September saw the pair go to Disney World and get engaged. In November they announced their engagement as the ring they ordered was finally delivered.

As for the future, Shawn and Leah are going on a cruise. This will be Shawn’s first time on a big boat. They will be going aboard the Disney Dream. In May, they will be going to Las Vegas to get married. The hope and the goal is to honeymoon in Hawaii. After that, the future is wide open!

  • Cigar Nerds Podcast: Christmas in Vegas

Cigar Nerds Podcast: Christmas in Vegas. This week we couldn’t find a new holiday movie we liked so we’re going to talk about a part movie. Close enough right? This week we review a return to adult comedy in Obliterated. It’s the hang over meets John Wick. In nerd news we look at Beverly Hills Cop 4, Dune 2, Godzilla X Kong, The Boys season 4, Furiousa, Fallout tv series, and a new Karate Kid Movie. • Flopcast 606: Get in Line to Milk Santa

Flopcast episode 606! Special guest Blasted Bill joins us for a Very Flopcast Christmas! And we’re putting Bill to work on an extra festive Top 4 ½ List of… Santas! Bill and Kornflake share their favorite Santas from movies, television, ski slopes, bar crawls, and maybe even Canada. (Let’s hope at least one of them picked a Santa from a Rankin/Bass cartoon, or Kevin will freak out like the Burgermeister.) Also: Bill is Composite Santa! Kornflake is Lucy Van Pelt! And Kevin is just dizzy and confused as usual! So grab a penguin, name it Topper for no good reason, put one podcast in front of the other, and enjoy. Heavily spiked egg nog, while not mandatory, is highly recommended.
