  • Side Hustles – Soul Forge Podcast 306
Side hustles are an additional employment opportunity outside of a person’s full-time job. They provide supplemental income. Unlike a part-time job, a side hustle commonly has more freedom and gives more control over what a person does, when they do it and how many hours they devote to it. Individuals can typically pursue a side hustle that involves their passions and talents. Some people may eventually make their side hustle their primary career.
There are many benefits of having one or more side hustles. Individuals typically manage the time they dedicate to their side hustle, making it easier to integrate into their existing schedule as full-time employees. By controlling their schedule, they can make their side hustle accommodate other events or commitments they have while still earning additional income. This may help them gain flexibility and maintain employment in their existing role while also pursuing their passion.
A side hustle is a way to earn extra income in addition to a full-time job. With the extra money, it might be easier to pay bills. This extra money will be useful to contribute to savings or assist with other expenses. The additional income could also help make your side hustle a growing business. One advantage of a side hustle is the opportunity to pursue a career you’re passionate about. Pursuing your passions as part of a side hustle might give you the opportunity to develop your side hustle into a career. You can also develop specific skills that may help make your side hustle successful.

  • Flopcast 600: This Will Be Lame
Flopcast episode 600! For our big milestone 600th episode, we’re doing… well, not much of anything. It’s just Kevin and the Mayor of Chickentown goofing around while we await the triumphant return of Kornflake. Topics include: A correction from last week’s show about mall sticker girls! (Oh yes, we heard from the mall sticker girls… they were most displeased…) Weird stuff you could order from the ads in Action Comics issue 600! (Would anyone like a Flexagon? Or perhaps a Roomerang?) How to turn invisible for five dollars! The 600th most popular song of the 1980s! (Is it by Hall and Oates? OF COURSE IT IS.) The 600th biggest movie of all time, when adjusted for inflation! (Hint: It’s from the 80s, and it did not involve Eddie Murphy or Billy Ocean, but we drag them into the discussion anyway.) So grab 600 cups of coffee and enjoy. We promise this is the 600th most important podcast you’ll hear this week.

  • Modern Musicology #93: “Now and Then”

    “Now and Then”

We’re at a moment in history — the release of “Now and Then”, the very last new recording by the greatest rock band in history, The Beatles. We’re joined by Ira Elliot, the drummer of Nada Surf and the Beatles tribute band Bambi Kino, to analyze this old/new track and the “long and winding road” it took to see fruition. We talk about the song itself, the music video, the making-of documentary, the technology that made this recording possible, the new editions of the Red and Blue compilations, and the emotional impact of hearing John’s voice on a new record.

We’d love to hear your impressions of “Now and Then” and/or about our review of it. Please do get in touch with us at [email protected] or leave a comment wherever you find our episode and let us know! And don’t forget to rate us on your favorite podcast app!
