  • Flopcast 531: Kornflake Wasn’t Like the Other Kids

Flopcast episode 531! We’re talking about the goofy MTV game show Remote Control, because recently we got to play it! Not the MTV version, but the (also goofy) home game version! We played Remote Control live online with our pals at the DragonCon American Sci-Fi Classics Track, and you can watch the whole crazy thing on YouTube. Meanwhile we’re looking back at the original show, live from Ken Ober’s basement, with Marisol, Kari, pre-SNL Colin Quinn, pre-SNL Adam Sandler, and even an occasional appearance by Weird Al. Brush up on your Brady Physics and join us. Also: More Electra Woman and Dyna Girl talk on The Batcave Podcast, and a National Whatever Day/Trapped in the House combo game that’s beyond human comprehension.

  • The 42cast Episode 157: Chicago TARDIS 2016 – The Original, You Might Say: The First Doctor’s Era

As we approach the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who, it’s time to take a look back at the beginning of it all. In this episode we go back to a panel from Chicago TARDIS 2016. In it we discuss William Hartnell the man and the first Doctor. We talk about the situation behind his involvement in the show and turbulent times in his later years. We discuss his performance as the Doctor and what he has brought to the role that has stuck with the series ever since. We also get into a discussion about the early years of the program. We discuss how its similar and different to Doctor Who as well and what elements from those years would no longer work and things that we think would that has been abandoned.

As this is a con panel, there will be no five-minute controversy this week.

This week Bill Albert, Steve Manfred, and Nyssa Makepeace join the cast.
