Episode 50… and it feels about right that everything is a little chaotic.
Leah’s got a decision to make. She just started a part-time job—but now a friend has offered her a short-term opportunity with better pay. The catch? She’d have to delay the job she just committed to. We talk through what you do when timing is terrible but the opportunity is real.
On the business side, we catch up on Etsy sales—and Shawn shares how trying to “simplify” shipping turned into a $200 mistake involving two swapped orders, a refund request, and a package stuck in customs. (There’s also now a full video about it over on his YouTube channel, because of course there is.)
Spring has technically arrived in Northern Ontario… but no one told the weather. Snow, freezing temps, and migraines are still very much part of daily life. We also talk about the annual flooding in northern communities, and how entire reserves are forced to evacuate year after year.
Somehow, in the middle of all that, we’re thinking about starting a vlog to document this northern life.
Leah accidentally ordered everything in her Amazon cart (not just one item), so now beekeeping season is officially happening… as soon as the weather cooperates.
We wrap things up with an update from Canada Post—contract ratification is coming up, big delivery changes are on the horizon, and Shawn’s got just over 10 years left until retirement.
It’s one of those episodes where life doesn’t slow down long enough to figure it out… so we just talk it through.
Grab a coffee.

AI in Music
AI is arguably the biggest technological revolution of our lifetime, but it’s certainly not without controversy. For every positive application in medicine, science, engineering, etc. there are questions about how far AI should go. Most particularly, the use of AI in the arts is a hot-button issue. Can AI be used legitimately in music, literature, and visual art? Does it threaten to replace human creativity? Is it truly nothing more than the theft of creators’ work? We speak with Walter Hieber, founder and owner of PrometheanLink Business Solutions, who helps us make sense of this scary new world we live and create in.

It’s been a loooooong road, but we’ve finally reached the end…. of the halfway point of the series! In this episode, we discuss our overall thoughts on season 2 and our hopes for season 3. We also went back and rewatched the series pilot Broken Bow to see how our feelings on it have changed now that we know the show and characters better. Lastly, we have an extra special Two Truths and a Lie about the first half of season 3 brought to us by our friends Abby and Chris from the other Enterprise podcast First Flight Podcast.
We also want to share this original art we commissioned from the artist Enabuns that features Jamie, Maria, and Bill, as well as our producer KO Myers, the voice of our computer Stephen, and our rikermendation’s sponsor Eric, all on the bridge of the NX-01.
When we started this podcast, a friend told us that Enterprise starts getting good in season three, and we scoffed and said our podcast was definitely not going to make it that far. And yet, here we are, two years later, with two seasons under our belt and two more to go!
Thank you so much to you, our listeners, for having faith (of the heart) in us and our show. We truly would not be continuing this journey if it wasn’t for all of you who listen to our show every week. Thank you for listening, for sharing our show with your friends, for sending us lovely messages, and for just being part of the little EnterpriseSplaining community we have created.
We appreciate all of you and can’t wait to finally get to start watching Star Trek Enterprise (new show name!) season 3… in four weeks. Yes, we buttered you up to let you know that we’re taking a four week break. I mean, we just watched an entire two seasons of Enterprise, so I think we’ve earned a break. But don’t worry, we will be back. We have two more seasons to explain, after all!
And with that, on to Enterprise season 3! See you all in four weeks!

In this episode of the Tales From Hollywoodland Podcast, we sit down with author Diane Kiesel to discuss her book When Charlie Met Joan, an in-depth exploration of the controversial and widely publicized relationship between Hollywood legend Charlie Chaplin and actress Joan Berry.
Set during the Golden Age of Hollywood, this story dives into one of the most sensational scandals of its time.
