We’re watching Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2, Episode 15 “Cease Fire,” but only our guest explainer Chuck from the Earth Station Trek podcast has actually watched the episode. The Vulcans and Andorians are at war over a small but strategically located planet. So, of course Captain Jonathan “the closest thing Starfleet has to an Ambassador” Archer is going to get involved in order to mediate a Cease Fire.

The What If..? series was a surprise hit from Marvel. Distinguishing Marvel Animation in a way that the company had not managed previously, the series boasted high quality animation and intriguing storylines that pushed the boundaries of the MCU. In this episode we explore the third season of the series. We discuss the individual episodes and what each meant to us. We talk about the characters and how the various alternate scenarios influenced them. We also get into our overall sense of the story, whether we thought that the final two episodes were a worthy resolution, and and whether we’d like to see the What If concept make a comeback.
This week’s five-minute controversy asks if we think that the Broccoli family’s loss of control of the Bond film franchise to Amazon is a good thing or not.
This week Director Faber, Anji, and Alli join the cast.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Franchise Review!
Happy Halloween from Have Coffee Will Travel! This week, we traded our lattes for chainsaws (figuratively, promise) and dove straight into one of horror’s most infamous franchises — The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Armed with caffeine and questionable judgment, we watched three slices of cinematic chaos: the gritty 1974 original that started it all, the wild and weird 1985 sequel, and the 2013 “direct sequel” that somehow forgot math. From Leatherface’s home decor choices (bones, bones, and more bones) to the unforgettable dinner scene that scarred an entire generation, we unpack what makes this series both horrifying and… kind of hilarious?
We talk about how the 1974 film still feels raw and disturbing fifty years later, how the 1985 sequel went full gonzo comedy with chainsaw duels and screaming, and how the 2013 version tried to modernize it — complete with cell phones, plot holes, and a surprisingly sympathetic Leatherface. Somewhere between the jump scares and the questionable fashion, we found ourselves weirdly entertained — and maybe a little nostalgic for old-school practical effects.
So grab your coffee, lock your doors, and join us as we break down what happens when Hollywood just can’t stop revving the chainsaw. Whether you’re a horror buff, a casual viewer, or someone who watches from behind a blanket, this one’s for you.
Because on Have Coffee Will Travel, we may not know what’s in the chili — but we do know how to make a mess out of a movie marathon.

Jim discusses a little-known 1970 British horror film from Tigon Productions – “The Beast In The Cellar,” starring Beryl Reid, Flora Robson, John Hamill, Tessa Wyatt, John Kelland, David Dodimead, Dafydd Havard, and directed by James Kelly. The story was based on a true story about two spinster sisters who kept their younger brother locked in a cellar for several years. When strange murders begin happening in a small British town, the sisters worry about who the perpetrator might be. Find out more on MONSTER ATTACK!, The Podcast Dedicated To Old Monster Movies.

Flopcast episode 701! It’s no secret that we’re rather obsessed with the 80s around here, so this week we’re chatting with author Debby Meltzer Quick. Debby’s first novel (the first of several!) is May I Have Your Attention Please, a mid-80s high school romance set in Eastboro, Massachusetts. Kevin and Debby discuss the novel itself, how much pop culture nostalgia to include in a story, how to draw from one’s own life without getting too autobiographical, and much more. Including: 80s movies both well-remembered (The Breakfast Club) and largely forgotten (Give My Regards to Broad Street); going to the Worcester Centrum to see Van Halen, Ratt, and U2 (but alas, not Journey); getting up early for Underdog cartoons; working at the cookie shop at the mall; the weirdness of Orange Julius; early video game systems; bad coffee; new Coke; and the dining room carpet Debby has not been allowed to walk on for forty years and counting. We really enjoyed this conversation, and you will too. And if you can find Eastboro, Massachusetts on a map, please let us know.
