This episode is dedicated to the memory of Peter David.
Crusade was a spinoff of the popular series, Babylon 5 that aired on TNT in 1999. Twenty years later several fans of the series and writer Peter David sat down at Dragoncon to discuss the series. We talk about favorite episodes, things that we liked about the setup for the series, production woes, and why we think that it was gone too soon. We even include a little speculation into where we think that the series was going.
This week is a Dragoncon panel from 2019 showcasing Peter David, Van Allen Plexico, and John Hudgens.

Movie night battle is a regular feature of married life. What are we going to watch tonight?
On this week’s episode, Shawn and Leah are chatting about movies, podcast ideas, yard sales and their Etsy shops. They’re always talking about their Etsy shops. It is a regular feature of the podcast. We hope you enjoy it. And even if you don’t, we are grateful that you listen anyway!
To start our movie night battle, we engaged in watching 28 Days Later. But why did we do this? Leah hadn’t seen this film before, and Shawn wanted to watch it in preparation for going to see the third film in the franchise. As it turns out, Leah does not enjoy these types of movies. Shawn enjoys them, but finds it difficult to enjoy something his partner does not care for. But, the film stars Cillian Murphy. And he starred in Oppenheimer two summers ago. That film was about nuclear bombs. And Israel and the USA attacked Iran’s nuclear sites this weekend. Everything comes full circle!
Office Space was the film we watched the next night. This one didn’t have killing or zombies or violence so Leah enjoyed it more. We finished it together. This movie features actor Gary Cole. Gary starred in the series Crusade. Crusade is a Babylon 5 spin off. Shawn and his British buddies podcasted about the Babylon 5 universe on the Epsilon Three Podcast. Go check that out!
A bit more than a week ago, we tried to watch the original Friday the 13th, but that proved impossible. Streaming services are not all that they are cracked up to be! However, watching films could be a podcast spinoff for us. Should we start a new podcast where all we do is watch and review films? Should Leah do a spinoff podcast about nursing?
We wrap up this extra special episode with a chat about our recent yard sale adventures. And as always, we tell you about our recent Etsy shops sales.

This week we are talking about how Star Trek has addressed mental health issues over the years. How will neurodiversity — and society’s understanding and acceptance of it — change in the future? Is there a place for everyone, no matter their situation? How does Starfleet address these issues and incorporate persons in these circumstances into its ranks? What roles do Counselors play on a Starship?
But first, we’ll get a “This Week in Trek” report from Keith, and then we’ll talk briefly about what we learned from the Strange New Worlds screening at Tribeca.

Earth Station Boo dives into 28 Days Later, the film that redefined the zombie genre with its fast-moving infected and bleak realism. We explore its haunting atmosphere, from the desolate streets of London to its masterful use of tension over jump scares. Join us as we break down Jim’s transformation from outsider to survivor, Selena’s role as a strong female protagonist, and how the film’s raw digital aesthetic and special effects heighten its unsettling tone.
We also examine the film’s themes of isolation, societal collapse, and human nature. Are the infected the greatest threat, or is humanity even more dangerous? Plus, we debate whether the film’s hopeful ending was the right choice. Don’t miss this deep dive into one of horror’s most influential films—only on Earth Station Boo!

LAST ALBUMS
We all can think of those artists or bands that we feel went just one album too far (and sometimes more!) and what might have been a great ending, capping off an iconic career, is undermined by a less-than-stellar follow-up. This week Anthony and Alan talk about some of the examples they came up with — including Metallica, Weezer, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Marillion, October Project, Asia, Judas Priest, Queen, Black Sabbath, and a whole lot more!
Then we do some #PicksOfTheWeek and talk about new releases from Marina, Bloodywood, Sparks, Styx, et al
We really would love to hear from you! Do you have an example of an album that would have been an amazing career-capper for a particular band or artist but wasn’t? Let us know! We’re watching Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2, Episode 7 “The Seventh,” but only Maria has actually watched the episode. T’Pol has some unfinished business with a fugitive she never managed to capture. She asks Archer to join her on the mission, which is good because it starts to trigger memories she didn’t know she had. Much like the EnterpriseSplaining crew who for weeks after recording this, kept asking “What was that episode about again?”
