'What a book in the making' --- From Secretary to Sikorsky
This episode we have Jeanette L Eaton - Vice President, Worldwide Strategy & Business Development, Commercial Systems & Services with Sikorsky / a Lockheed Martin Company.
A 30-year aviation veteran who has a passion that even one of her Sikorsky S70 FIREHAWK's could not extinguish! A prominent woman in aviation who has journeyed through engineering, program management and now sales. Igor would indeed be proud! From the first helicopter in 1939 the VS300 to so many famous models including of course the BLACKHAWK.
Since 1957 and Eisenhower, every president in the last 60 years has flown in a Sikorsky - 12 in total. The S92 now being the premier choice of heads of state. Jeanette now holds a pilot's licence as well as helicopter ratings. Flying across America ferrying and delivering models to completion centres and customers prove that 'flying the talk' is so important and has been another example of focus, being aware of opportunities and developing a leadership style and set of principles to be admired and respected. "When you focus on problems, you will have more problems. When you focus on possibilities, you will have more opportunities."
Jeanette is a member of many organisations - I enjoyed learning about were the 'whirly girls' and the 'ninety-nine' 99s as well as Women in Aviation.
Knowing your WHY and being a good leader -- "Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence" Bring on the book Jeanette!
