This comes as the NDP recently released a healthcare roadmap for the province. Calling in sick could soon become a lot more complicated in Germany. The government is proposing that workers provide a doctor's note from the very first day they're off sick, saying the move is needed to reduce absenteeism and improve productivity. Critics argue it would overwhelm doctors' offices, discourage people from staying home when they're contagious and create more red tape than results.
