The crew returns for another installment of our Black History Month series “My Skin My Logo”. Unfortunately we get off to a unfortunate start as the crew reacts and discuses the tragic & recent death of Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke. This opens the floor for a discussion on “Black on Black crime” based off a article published by “Temple of T.Cat”. This topic forces the crew to have the rough conversation of accountability in the black community and also the possible solutions to these generational problems. A music discussion follows this topic as the crew discusses some of the trends of this generations hip hop artist. We pay homage to some of the greatest black artist that paved the way for our culture and made their impact felt for decades. Brandon introduces an article that suggest that students who graduated from HBCUs may be paying more in interest on student loans than those who graduated from PWI’s. The crew gives their thoughts on that and then transitions to another article centered around millennial dating. Lastly, the crew gives their thoughts on Gayle Kings recent interview with Lisa Leslie regarding questions asked about the late Kobe Bryant. The crew gives a recap of the super bowl and indulge in a little sports talk centered around the advantages of teams having a great offense vs great defense. It wouldn’t be a February episode if we didn’t discuss Black History month and what it means to us, as well as great black leaders from the past that we wish we had the opportunity to meet. The fellas also discuss the recent comments made by Pastor Troy in regards to Lil Nas X. Not a lot of news/topics to touch on this week but we got through it!

This time Brandon and G are holding it down while stew is out. They start off by discussing the Aaron Hernandez documentary which was featured on Netflix. The guys give a background synopsis to the documentary and then give their opinions on what transpired based on the information that was shared. From there they cover the decision of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to denounce their royal titles and relocate to America. How monumental will this be for both British and American culture ? And what does it say about Prince Harry? Lastly the fellas discuss the latest drama with Odell Beckham Jr. and whether he seeks attention or if it’s just unavoidable for him as a superstar.

The crew assembles for another episode in which they start by continuing and expanding their conversation from the last episode about goals for the new year. The guys have a in-depth talk about what they can and will aspire to do in 2020. Next they discuss what seemed to be the hottest topic on social media this week- Lori Harvey and Future. The guys give their take on the newest situation and give their prediction on how long they think it will last. The gang is back and in full attendance this episode. First episode of the year with all 3 members and they picked up exactly where they left off last year. The fellas recap their New Years and the goals that they have in 2020. From there came the topic of the week which is the disturbing news of the growing feud between the U.S. and Iran. The fellas give their opinion on the topic and try to see things from an objective point of view give them information that they’ve seen and read. From there the topic of Ari Lennox’s later twitter rant in response to a lame was discussed. The guys shed light on the original tweet that sparked the controversy and what they feel should or could have been done instead of the end result that we saw from Ari on social media. Lastly the fellas wrap the episode up by discussing “bring a friend” etiquette and also why women catch “attitudes “ when they miss somebody. This week the crew goes down memory lane on the decade 2010- 2019, they reflect on the past events that helped shaped the current music industry, the state of the United states and their personal lives. G and Brandon then share their favorite albums from this decade, and where they were in their life when the album came out. Lastly G and Brandon share a message they wish they could tell their younger selves. 

This week Brandon & G hold it down as stew couldn’t be here for this episode. The fellas begin the podcast by showing their respects to the 5 beautiful winners of the 2019 pageant contest who all were black women. This leads to a discussion of the progression of the black culture and what seeing black people excel & have prominent roles in different industries does for the next generation. From there, the crew discusses the latest topic in news, Karol Sanchez, faking her own kidnapping. The guys give their opinion on the situation and what they think the long term impact of her actions will be in regards to the national crisis of human trafficking. Lastly the crew discusses making first impressions with parents when it comes to dating. Also, how does the relationship between you and your significant other’s parents factor into the success or failure of your relationship with that person?
