When you can’t help yourself, you need help from others. Sometimes that person is a HEALTH PROFESSIONAL, sometimes that person is your PSYCHOLOGIST, this time that person is Nicole Horsford.

Having and developing an understanding for herself wasn’t the purpose of studying psychology, it was the bi-product. Nicole went through a large majority of her life with depression and sadness which was attracting negative relationships coupled with poor outcomes.

At age 29, divorced and with an 18 month old daughter Nikki realised she had to make something of herself, and funnily enough that something was helping people professionally. Including honours it took 7 years of hard work, sacrifice, support and sheer determination to finally have belief in herself that she was on the right path.

Focusing strongly on women becoming the best versions of themselves was a realisation of her personal success on that journey, now having developed an incredible online course and coaching platform called Intuitive You. Nikki believes relationships should not be hard work, however they do require effort.

Nicole believes, “When both men and women put the effort into working on themselves to heal their emotional wounds, a relationship can blossom and true connection can be experienced.”

From the first conversation with PERSONAL TRAINER and SPORTS NUTRITIONIST Jordan Topham I knew his mindset, motivation and commitment to health and wellness was something we would talk about in great depth for many years to come.

Inspired from a young age in health and wellness Jordan talks us through knowing how he would eventually navigate to a life that would revolve around those topics. Starting his personal training certificate when still in high school showed that he was serious about joining this industry as soon as he could. Myself and Jordan first connected during a workout he was running, we quickly dove into conversations on David Goggins and all things fitness.

School was not an easy environment for Jordan as he wasn’t academically inclined and teachers almost classed him as “special”, this however kept Jordan hungry for becoming someone who was more than peoples opinions of him. Fast forward to the ripe age of 23, he has a great understanding of the importance of self awareness in topics such as process - enjoying the journey, on happiness - doing what makes you feel joy, and connection - surrounding yourself with positivity and good people.

Being a full time Personal trainer for many years now Jordan has been greatly invested in his life of health and wellness. Having recently completed his cert 4 in sports nutrition he has a mountain of knowledge when it comes to life, mindset and fueling for overall wellness. Jordan likes to fully understand his clients in the gym by taking a holistic approach to their nutrition and training, looking at the more non-common factors to health such as social, mental and relationship health.

Although Jordan is considered “young” by most demographics he possesses a mountain of knowledge which he puts down to the value he has on his opinion of himself. He tells me that “you have to find love in what you do, the people you surround yourself with and the life you are creating. I live with a constant flow of hope and optimism that the work I do on myself will result in me helping more and more people as I navigate through his beautiful life.”

When you think of the MODERN DAY MAN, what is it that you think of, what character traits or appearances come to mind? If well measured, insightful, caring, strong and open minded spark the thought you had then it’s safe to agree that Joel Johnston is a Modern Day Man.

Joel speaks of his life with great positivity and awareness. He grew up in a small mining town in Central Queensland, Australia with his loving and supportive mum, dad and younger brother. Realising later in his journey through university, sport, travel and into parenthood the massive sacrifices his family made in order for him to live a life without going without.

I was lucky enough to meet Joel when I was 15 through the school boys rugby union system which developed into representative sides where Joel quickly became more than just a coach but also a mentor. “I was 14 at boarding school when I made my first mentor in our sports coach and teacher, we all looked up to him and he was in constant conversations throughout our lifetime that continued since his passing”Joel says as he relives his youth through what is his first appearance on a podcast.

Rugby became a part of Joel’s identity as well as his life where it landed him a semi-pro contract in Essex, United Kingdom. Using this incredible opportunity he turned 1 year into 4 years as his love for culture, people, learning and travel quickly cemented itself. “I believe this is where my why was first discovered, I knew I was going to develop my skill set to help be a voice for communities and cultures back in Australia.”

His career in social diversity was founded upon return to Australia with a score card of incredible rolls and accolades ranging from indigenous programs, government and corporate awards, JT academy and with QRU. Joel developed incredible skills in active listening, empathy, reconciliation and more. With his proudest moments being apart of the development and roll out of the Elliot families ( Ginger Cloud foundation ) modified rugby for disabled or impaired kids, and the future Indigenous Leaders program with the Reds where they built young “leaders” through a pre adult journey sharpening their life skills to become leaders of their communities as they became adults.

Active listening = listening = heard = happy. It’s to remove emotion from conversation as well as the need to be right.

Author, Mentor, Optometrist, and speaker Luke Mathers shares his incredible journey to the top as well as his insightful opinions on stress & anxiety in the modern world.

Luke Mathers didn’t read his first book until he was grade 9, he didn’t have natural ability when it came to sport, nor did he let that stop him in the real world. Going on to complete his university degree as an optometrist where he later moved to the UK to invest his knowledge and time into the franchise store SpecSavers. Coming back to Australia cashed up and ready to retire at age 31 you would think Luke was happy as a pig in shit.

“My marriage was on the rocks, I was smoking way too much pot and I had a hypomanic episode; after a sleepless two weeks where I lost 12kg the experts came into work and gave me 2 choices, both of which led to me being in a mental health institute for several days. I had a mental health episode but I don’t have a mental health issue” Luke says as we dive into his beliefs with feelings and emotions not being your personality or a part of your identity.

Luke Mathers has asked the same questions 9.5million times “do those letters look better like this or like this?”, he has cured people's eyes and made millions of dollars. All of this has led Luke to his current path where his passion now is for helping individuals and businesses work better with stress. He does this through his book “Stress Teflon” with stress-functioning workshops and guest speaking appearances or his Prymal Reset retreats that give you an open space to change.

SJ “The Success Muse” Plumpton is not just TRADING FOREX she is shaping mindsets, coaching lifestyle and SAVING LIVES every single day.

Just when you think you know someone, think again. When you form opinions about a person or a certain situation or even a certain scenario, think again. It’s life as you know it, it’s how it’s always been, so why should it, why would it, and how could it change, think again. I’ve been grateful enough to have ventured through life with SJ by my side as a friend and a mentor so it gave me great pleasure to introduce her story to you today. What I didn’t know about Sarah was her upbringing, her trauma and the heartache that she experienced as a young girl turning into a young woman. She carried that emotion into her early adult life where she developed and allowed unhealthy relationships with love, drugs and money.

It took a rock bottom moment for Sarah to awaken to the situation that she had  allowed herself to stay in before she took the rains of life and made the CHOICE to change; “I want to be remembered for how I made people feel, not what I had”.

Sj’s journey to fulfill her why is nothing short of incredible, however so simple and practical. She sat with herself after years of trying new avenues, 7 diplomas to be exact; to ask herself “how do I want to feel every day? What do I want to do every day? And what industry is going to allow me to achieve that?” That's when SJ found Forex trading with Tradehouse. A business that was going to allow her to feel joy, feel love, work on her terms, and explore in her time all the while fulfilling her why.

Eight years ago Sj wrote her mission statement for The Success Muse. Eight years ago Sj had no idea where she was going to end up or what career she would choose. What she did know was what she wanted to do for people and that was to “cast a vision for their lives and create a game plan for achieving what it is that they want to achieve”. On this journey Sj has been able to get people out of financial hardships, get herself into a place of freedom, literally save lives, and find who she really is.

As Plant Based IRONMAN Jansen Andre marched himself to the top of the sand dunes in Morocco at 2am to discover his PURPOSE was HELPING PEOPLE, he knew it was time to come home.

Although Jansen didn’t have a father or father figure in his life he sure as hell had an incredible role model in his mum. Growing up in Melbourne Australia, he became quite unsure of who he was which led to quite a rebellious childhood however still achieving success as a child model and actor. “When I stopped trying to get approval from the kids in my school; I began to make my mother proud” as he embraced his femininity and love for all things around him.

Becoming a 2 time Ironman competitor while fueling as a whole food vegan, Jans is not only an athlete of great stature he's also a private chef and mental health coach now residing in the Gold Coast. Waking up every single day with gratitude and excitement is such an incredible feeling but “I am still human, and I have shit days as well” he tells me as he explains what it's like to always be the hype guy in his friendship circles.

Being a personal chef for several years now having owned a restaurant and cafe with his mum, food is like first nature. Exploring all things nutrition, diets and fasting to get the absolute best out of his performance as well as creating nutritional vegan food for many grateful clients. Which led Jans to launch his own podcast called The Awoken Athlete where he talks to professionals in the field to expose the greatness of living a life with a plant-based focus.

With all his current races being canceled and postponed Jans has founded a fundraiser for Make A Wish Foundation where he and his friends are going to run 160km to raise much needed funds for children with critical illness. If I didn't have that experience of looking over Lachys BODY when he was DEAD; would I have gotten through that? I don’t know!

Kyle Burke is my best friend, my business partner and EVOCATIV’s co-founder. He's intelligent, confident and loves to run - like a really long way for a really long time. Kyle didn’t have life easy, he didn't get given the silver spoon rather he was dished up a much harder meal of life. Leaving school at age 15 on a quest to earn something he never had, being money, led to being an 18year old tradesman with disposable cash in a heavy party scene which continued for years as he was also a local DJ.

After the sudden passing of his best mate Lachy, Kyle began a downward spiral with mental health issues and furthered his unhealthy habits until he found running. “Running for long periods of time without music became my therapy” and so he knew the power of running and physical movement. Inspiring him to found a fundraiser called Run For Your Life 100. A 100km run from Gold Coast to Byron Bay to prove there's an end to even your darkest days - Kyle learnt that “your dark days are experiences you can turn to to get you through your even darker days. My goal is to help others achieve things they never thought were possible, things they have always doubted themselves in”.

Men's mental health means more to him than just those 3 words, it's his heart and soul, his passion and his major mission to make an impact. We are honored to have GYMSHARK athlete and “Hype Lord'' Meg Sutherland on this week's episode. Are you looking for a way to improve CONFIDENCE, sit back and get ready to take notes.

Meg shares her journey from being 3 years old doing gymnastics where she acquired her first taste for the importance of consistency and discipline. Navigating exceptionally well through school with 2 sisters and a stable household supporting her. Meg worked tirelessly to crawl her way back from “failure” to the face of FISAF aerobics and fitness as a world champion at age 15; learning and developing so much more than her routines, Meg learnt lessons on life.

Having such an incredible mindset as well as great discipline from a young age allowed Meg to make some really intelligent moves through early adulthood positioning her as a GymShark athlete, personal trainer, mentor and the founder of MEGARUN. Although it might appear otherwise, Meg wasn’t always the confident outspoken one in the group. In fact, having a fear of public speaking and being in front of a crowd she confronted those fears head on with the goal to experience life to its greatest offering; proving that just like in running you can turn that voice off in your head and conquer your goals.

It will come at no surprise that Meg has a passion for improving people's confidence; a single 10km run is where she recommends starting. The MEGARUN was founded on the premise of “giving myself something I didn’t necessarily feel like doing but by being consistent with it meant I was giving myself the mental strength and the confidence to take on any opportunity or challenge in my life”.
