How can we actually connect with God and not just have a theoretical knowledge about Him? Jesus and many others have experienced God in a special way in deserts and mountaintops. What was it about those encounters that enabled such special revelations, and how can we truly experience God today?
God has a pattern of leading His people into the desert. What possible point is there in spending all that time in all that empty space? Why did Jesus spend 40 days there? What were the temptations about? And what relevance do they have to us in modern Australia, a country with the desert at its heart?
God is not just found at Christmas time, with stars and angels singing in the night sky. He is everywhere, all the time - but how do we recognise Him? How can we know He is there?
