Imagine you are driving down the freeway and you see a bright orange Prius wrapped like a basketball with the name of some basketball coaching school on the side. It may sound corny, but today’s guest did just that as part of launching his version of the Opt Out Life. Our guest is Jordan Lawley. We’re on location at his training facility in Orange County, fresh off a session where Jordan schooled a few guys you’ve probably seen playing on TV. Because Jordan is now one of the NBA’s premier skills trainers, and runs a wildly successful basketball training empire that spans from his basecamp in OC and around the world, thanks to the power of YouTube and his nearly 330K instagram followers. Follow along as we go through Jordan’s rise through college and the pros, to getting started as a trainer and getting kicked out of gyms in far-out suburbs, to livestreaming his sessions with guys in the NBA. For this episode’s guest, an early love for bicycles and freedom has turned into a career in the bicycle business, and it’s giving him more freedom than he ever expected. We’re on location in one of the most bikeable cities in the world, Copehnagen, Denmark. Heintz Storland was raised to get an education, land a good job, get married and have kids. But, he opted out of that social pressure. His bikes cost a thousand dollars and up...but are made to look old, intentionally. And he sells espresso from a little window at the front of his shop, where small talk is encouraged. More at optoutlife.com/podcast/heintz-storland

Mike Demko is an entrepreneur who likes to surf. No surprise then that his office is a few blocks from the sand. His entrepreneurial journey started in commercial real estate, where he developed and brokered deals. When the real estate market grew cold, he started experimenting with using video to do other forms of marketing. Today, he's a master of the "lifestyle business" afforded to those who know how to use outsourced labor and build subscription-style products that stick. As you’ll hear, Mike’s an old friend of ours and there’s a reason we finally got him in the studio. We just want to be as cool, and as Opted Out, as Mike Demko. The idea of opting out isn’t about making a bunch of money so you can then live the rich life. Sure, we have had some guests with a big success story or two, and those are fun. But it’s not about the cash. It’s about taking back control of your time and income. Our guest is Crystal Carr. Crystal owns her own photography business and militantly protects her time as both a professional, and as a mother. You can follow Crystal’s model. Take that thing you know well, and just start doing it. Put up a website, print some cards, and start cheap to get a little business. And never forget that the business you’re creating serves one purpose - income you control, on a schedule you control. No compromises. More at optoutlife.com/podcast/crystal-carr

Our guest is Brett Papa. Brett’s racked up 10s of millions of views on his videos and built a cult following by doing something many an aspiring musician might be capable of, flipping on a camera and walking through the steps on how to play your favorite Iron Maiden song. Brett started his YouTube career when he still had a day job, building and delivering guitar amps. For years, he created videos with a cheap camera in the back of a buddy’s chiropractic office and now he’s the second most popular guitar teacher on the Internet...straight up Youtube famous with 44 million views across a thousand videos. If you could be granted one wish, one wish to do anything, be anything, or have anything, what would you wish for? This episode is all about dreams, bucket lists, and making wishes come true. Our guest is Greg Reid, a world renowned speaker and author of dozens of books that have now been read by millions. He’s produced films, including 2019’s “Wish Man”, which tells the life story of the founder of the Make A Wish Foundation. Greg’s the modern day Napoleon Hill, traveling the world talking to the upper reaches of successful people. Getting to do that is cool, of course, but it also gives a person some insightful perspective about how we all should think or re-think how we set out to do things in life. Try to keep up as he fires off advice in this fast-paced conversation with our Instafamous friend, Greg Reid. More at optoutlife.com/podcast/greg-reid
