After a week off to catch up on sleep and health from our week in Kalamazoo, TESN's Price Atkinson and "The Godfather" Joe Calabrese look back on the amazing week bringing you the 2019 U.S. Curling Nationals from the Zoo. 

We welcome in Granite Curling Club president Phil Shryock, as the GCC is hosting the 2019 U.S. Mixed Doubles Nationals in Seattle this week. He talked about the excitement within the Club, preparing to host the championship, reaction in the local Seattle area and more. 

Plus Price and Joe recap a few of the latest events including the World Junior Championship and the wild finish last weekend at the Scotties in Nova Scotia. And good luck to Team USA who'll competing at the 2019 World Wheelchair Championship starting this weekend in Stirling, Scotland!

TESN's Joe Calabrese and Price Atkinson are at the 2019 USA Curling Nationals in Kalamazoo and the playoffs are now set on the men's and women's side. They break down all the action and Friday's playoff matchups from the Wings Event Center.

But Price welcomes Team Persinger skip Rich Ruohonen who begged to get back on in order to acquire the podcast bump and slipped Price a few $$$$ in order to make it happen. And we also catch you up on last week's Curling World Cup and our podcast schedule from next week while at Nationals!

Host Price Atkinson is away this week so "The Godfather" Joe Calabrese is in the captain's chair and is joined by Sean Murray and Marc Beyer to preview the field for the upcoming 2019 USA Curling Nationals in Kalamazoo, MI (Feb. 9-16).

Plus Price finds out which fast food joint will be Joe's only method of survival at Nationals in Kalamazoo next month. And you'll be shocked he does NOT pick McDonald's!

In this week's guest interviews, Price caught up with Olympian and Sportsnet analyst Mike Harris who talked about misconceptions with the Grand Slam of Curling events and growth of the sport in the United States. Canadian Olympic gold medalist Brad Gushue also talked with Price while in Newfoundland about curling at home in St. John's and how he was cheering for Team Shuster to win gold after their win over Canada's Team Koe in the Olympic semifinals. 

In the Segment-You-Can't-Refuse, Joe welcomed Sarah Walsh and Peter Chorba from the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club. Get your curling fix on with us before we return January 4, 2019!
