In this episode of The Extraordinary Life Podcast I dig into Ayn Rand and why her ideas still make people so uncomfortable.
That your life belongs to you and no one else.
That setting yourself on fire to keep other people warm is not a virtue.
That facing reality as it actually is beats living inside a comfortable illusion.
I have yet to hear a compelling argument against any of these three ideas.
Here is the thing about Rand. She said things that were true, but she said them in a way that made it easy to attack her instead of her ideas.
Cruel. Grumpy. Cold. All the things people call her instead of engaging with what she actually put on the table. And honestly, couldn't we all learn from that? Say the true thing, but say it in a way people can actually hear.
Regardless of how you feel about her, she made massive contributions to humanity.
That part is not debatable to me.
