F is for Flannel 🍂🏈
There’s something special about fall in the Midwest. The temperatures start dropping, the leaves turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold, Friday night lights come alive, and life seems to slow down just enough for everyone to take a deep breath.
This week on The F-It Podcast, we’re pulling on our flannels and celebrating everything we love about fall! We talk about our favorite parts of the season, from the crisp autumn air and changing leaves to those cool Friday nights spent under the lights of a high school football game.
We also welcome Josh back to the Midwest after his time in Texas, as his family get to experience a true Midwestern fall. How different will it feel? And will they still be enjoying those cooler temperatures when they realize what comes next?
Because as beautiful as fall can be, here in the Midwest, it also serves as a reminder that winter is right around the corner. The days get shorter, the air gets colder, and before we know it, we're trading our flannels for winter coats.
But for now, let's enjoy the colors, the football, the crisp air, and that feeling that the world is slowing down just a little.
So grab your favorite flannel, pour yourself something warm, and settle in. We're celebrating the season that reminds us sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down, take a deep breath, and enjoy the moment.

Hey! This Week You Should Watch… Horror
October is here, the spooky season has officially begun, and this week the guys are diving headfirst into the world of horror movies!
From the movies that scared us as kids to the ones we still can't watch alone, Adam and Jimmy look back at their first memories of horror, share their favorite horror films, and admit which movies they absolutely can't stand.
But horror hasn't stayed the same. The guys take a trip through the evolution of the genre, from classic monsters and slashers to psychological horror, supernatural scares, found footage, elevated horror, and the strange and terrifying places filmmakers continue to take the genre.
What makes a horror movie truly scary? Why do some movies become classics while others are better left forgotten? And what scares us more now than it did when we were kids?
Turn off the lights, lock the doors, and join us for a conversation about the movies that scared us, thrilled us, disturbed us, and kept us up at night.

This week on The F-It Podcast, we're heading to one of the most sacred institutions in the Midwest: the supper club.
What exactly makes a supper club a supper club? Is it the atmosphere? The relish tray? The Friday night fish fry? Prime rib? A brandy Old Fashioned? Or is there some secret, unwritten rule that separates a real supper club from a restaurant that just happens to have a bar and a Wisconsin Old Fashioned?
The guys dive into the traditions that make supper clubs such a beloved part of Midwest culture, share some of their favorite spots, and talk about the foods and drinks that have become synonymous with the experience—from crispy Friday fish fry and perfectly cooked prime rib to the unmistakable Wisconsin brandy Old Fashioned.
But things get contentious when the guys start examining some questionable supper clubs and debating the ultimate question:
Does it actually count as a supper club?
Grab a fish fry, order yourself a brandy Old Fashioned, and pull up a chair. We're talking Wisconsin supper clubs—and we're prepared to defend our definitions.

Hey! This Week You Should Watch… The Great Dictator
Jimmy gives Adam some homework this week: watch one of the most important films in the history of cinema—Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator.
The guys take a look at Chaplin’s bold 1940 film and discuss how he used comedy and satire to take on Adolf Hitler, fascism, and the political climate of the time. They explore whether The Great Dictator helped establish a blueprint for the political satire we see in movies and television today, and why Chaplin choosing to make this film in the late 1930s was such a remarkable—and risky—decision.
But the biggest question is whether a movie made nearly 90 years ago can still say something to audiences today. The guys break down the film’s themes, its famous moments, and its message about power, hatred, humanity, and standing up against oppression—and discuss why so much of what Chaplin was saying still feels relevant.
So grab some popcorn, go back to 1940, and find out why Jimmy thinks Adam—and everyone else—should watch The Great Dictator.

This week, the guys are talking about some of the best fight sequences in movie history, as well as some of the absolute worst. They break down what makes a movie fight great, what makes one painfully bad, and why sometimes the difference between an awesome fight and a laughable one comes down to choreography, realism, and whether the actors actually look like they know how to throw a punch.
They also dive into one of the greatest action-movie tropes of all time: The Heavy—that intimidating, seemingly unstoppable bad guy whose entire job is to make the hero’s life miserable.
And because talking about movie fights wasn't enough, Jimmy created a movie villain gauntlet, ranking bad guys from the ones an average guy might have a chance against all the way up to villains that would require the strongest heroes in the movies to survive. The guys then have to answer the important question:
Could you actually take them in a fight?
Grab your popcorn, pick your opponent, and get ready to find out just how tough you really are.

From Wolverine and Magneto to Gambit, Nightcrawler, Beast, Iceman, and beyond, every role is up for debate.
Expect some inspired choices and probably some questionable choices as Adam and Jimmy defend their picks and challenge each other's casting decisions.

This week on The F-It Podcast, we're celebrating America's 250th anniversary with a look back at the people and moments that helped shape the United States. We explore just how young many of the Founding Fathers were in 1776 (spoiler: they accomplished a lot before turning 40!), each share our favorite president and why they stand out to us, and uncover the fascinating story behind "The Star-Spangled Banner."
We also put America's 250 years into perspective by comparing our nation's age to some of the world's oldest civilizations, reminding ourselves just how young the American experiment really is. To wrap things up, we each reflect on what being an American means to us and the values we hope continue to define our country for generations to come.

What started as a conversation about summer water activities turned into so much more that we had to come back for a second episode. And as it turns out, F is for Floaties Part Two is also a special milestone—our one-year anniversary of The F-It Podcast.
To celebrate, we welcome our very first guest: a longtime friend we've known since our teenage years. She joins us to share stories from her days working as a lifeguard in the Wisconsin Dells, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most iconic summer jobs imaginable and some of the memorable experiences that came with it.
The conversation naturally drifts into memories of high school summers spent at her parents' house on the lake, where countless afternoons were filled with swimming, boating, laughter, and the kind of stories that only seem to get better with age. Along the way, we take a brief detour into camping—because no conversation about summer is ever completely safe from a camping story—but eventually find our way back to the water.
To close things out, we talk about some of our favorite places to spend time on the water, including the Chippew Flowage and the great lakes , reflecting on what makes these places so memorable and why being near the water remains such a big part of summer.
Part nostalgia, part reunion, and part anniversary celebration, this episode is a reminder of why we started this podcast in the first place: sharing stories, laughing with friends, and occasionally finding our way back to the topic we were supposed to be discussing.

In F is for Floaties Part One, we share stories about summer water adventures, from epic water park trips and favorite attractions to lazy days floating in the sun. We talk about what makes water parks such a timeless summer tradition, why lake days never seem to get old, and how some of our best summer memories have happened with nothing more than friends, family, water, and a little free time.
Along the way, we explore how our relationship with summer fun has changed over the years—from kids looking for the biggest slide and deepest pool to adults trying to squeeze every bit of fun out of a busy summer schedule.
What started as a simple conversation about water activities quickly turned into something much bigger. In fact, we realized there was far more to discuss than we could fit into a single episode. So consider this the first splash into the topic, because F is for Floaties will be continuing in Part Two.
Grab your sunscreen, inflate your floatie, and join us as we kick off a celebration of one of summer's greatest traditions: spending time on the water.
