Back from the tropical land of Colombia, our host is back in studio on a cold snowy day. The name of the episode is 'Celebrate Colombia' & Tropico Beats has brought not only a bunch of rare Colombian records, but also a couple of very special guests from over there.
He starts off spinning classic cumbia records from the 60's and 70's from the legendary label 'Discos Fuentes', the most traditional one & home to the best tropical music since the 1940's. After that, it was time for 'The Phronetic' to do his thing. He's a producer, beat maker, educator born in Colombia & recognized worldwide for his live sets & finger drumming skills.
Last but not least, analog photographer/DJ Laura Parrales takes over the decks. She's also an immigrant from Colombia, an electro/techno head, spins nothing but classic dance vibes on vinyl including hits by Divine, Sylvester & Spanish group Mecano.
