  • Down To Earth With Harriet Cammock Kanye Wests’ $68M Tax Refund was ‘divinely inspired’

Kanye West says his $68M tax refund was ‘divinely inspired’. Indeed, after releasing a new album entitled ‘Jesus is King’ where the rapper who formerly espoused explicit lyrics now capitulates to a non-explicit Christian/Jesus centered message, it would appear that Kanye’s financial windfall- which came on the heels of self-admitted $35 million indebtedness- is the work of a higher being.

But now that Kanye is ’Christian’, at least as “Christian‘ as one in his position can be, the question remains; how sincere is Kanye’s newfound faith? Will it stand the test of time should he ever fall back into millions of dollars of debt? Or  is it just a publicity gimmick by another self-centered celebrity to generate album sales?

  • Down To Earth With Harriet Cammock: Stoicism vs Christianity

In this episode, Harriet examines the ideology behind #stoicism and any parallels between the two. The similarities are startling. Stoicism, an Ancient Greek philosophy formed in Athens, teaches that virtue,, the highest good is based on knowledge, the wise can live in harmony with he divine Reason that permeates nature. Christianity, based on the teachings of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, teaches love, compassion, charity and forgiveness. It is only through Jesus and faith not good works, that one can achieve salivation .

While stoicism appears as the polar opposite of Christianity- with Stoics relying solely on reason, logic, and knowledge to achieve inner peace, and Christians relying on Jesus’ forgiveness of sins to achieve salvation for their souls- the two philosophies have far more in common than meets the eye.
