On the planet Mirinoi, villagers are attacked by Furio and his Stingwingers who seek the legendary Quasar Sabers. Meanwhile, on Earth, the space colony Terra Venture prepares for its journey into space. Siblings Mike and Leo Corbett are both involved, with Mike as a command officer and Leo sneaking aboard. He meets Kendrix and Kai. As Terra Venture undergoes a final training exercise on the Moon, Maya, a Mirinoi native, emerges through a portal, pursued by Stingwingers. She explains her village is under attack and that she has escaped to Earth and Mike, Kendrix, and Leo are spurred into action, going through the portal to Mirinoi, determined to help. In "Countdown to Destruction, Part 2," Astronema threatens Earth after the universe falls, demanding the Power Rangers surrender. When the citizens of Angel Grove declare themselves to be rangers in defiance, the real Rangers reveal themselves and battle Astronema's forces. Andros infiltrates the Dark Fortress, finding Zordon who insists that he must destroy him to save the universe. As he prepares to do so, Astronema attacks, but a redirected energy blast reverts her back to Karone, seemingly killing her. Grief-stricken, Andros follows Zordon's final wish and shatters his energy tube, releasing a wave of energy that purifies evil across the universe. "Countdown to Destruction, Part 1" kicks off the epic finale with Dark Specter unleashing the United Alliance of Evil upon the universe. Astronema, now in charge, sends her forces to conquer Earth and KO-35, while Rita, Zedd, Divatox and the Machine Empire begin their own attacks on other planets. The Power Rangers are quickly overwhelmed as Angel Grove falls under siege. Zhane is rescued by the other Space Rangers but the team quickly faces the reality of their losing battle, with the Rangers demorphing under immense pressure. Aboard the Dark Fortress, Darkonda makes a final bid for power, launching a Super Torpedo at Dark Specter which succeeds at killing him. But is betrayed before he can fire the other. As Dark Specter disintegrates, Astronema assumes leadership of the evil alliance, claiming the title of "Queen of Evil," and prepares to deliver the finishing blow to Earth by crashing the Dark Fortress into it. Zhane's timely arrival in the Galaxy Rover provides temporary relief, but Astronema transforms Tankenstein into a colossal being. The Rangers, piloting the Mega Voyager, face a devastating fight, ultimately destroying Tankenstein at the cost of their Zord. This victory comes at a high price, leaving the Rangers with severely diminished resources and Astronema sensing their weakened state, bringing the final confrontation closer than ever. In "The Impenetrable Web," the Power Rangers face a dire situation orchestrated by Astronema and Ecliptor. The Rangers are lured into a trap on the planet Forza, where the Astro Megaship is ensnared in an energy web, rendering them powerless. Ecliptor infiltrates the Megaship, attempting to steal vital information, while Darkonda ambushes the Rangers. Zhane arrives in the Galactic Rover to rescue them, destroying Darkonda in the process. Meanwhile, Ecliptor, enhanced by hyper accelerator energy, attacks the Mega Voyager, leading to a climactic battle where he destroys the Delta Megazord. Ultimately, the Rangers barely defeat Ecliptor, who retreats to plot his revenge.
