Go! Go! Loser Ranger! season 2 culminated in episode 12, "The One and Only Fighter D," where the seemingly insurmountable Deathmecia was finally defeated. The episode revealed Deathmecia's tragic origin as Yakushi Usukubo, a human driven to despair by the loss of his monster lover, Yurimelida. Angel Usukubo's internal conflict and discovery of her role as a vessel for Yurimelida became central to the plot, with D ultimately convincing her to embrace her individuality. It was Yakushi's lingering humanity, his inability to fully transform into a monster due to his love for Yurimelida, that became his downfall. A year-long plan orchestrated by Angel, Hisui, and D exploited this weakness, leading to Deathmecia's starvation and demise, restoring peace to the world and setting the stage for a potential third season based on the manga's existing content. In "The Takeover," tensions escalate at UTS as Rovian and her crew arrive, demanding to buy the company. Yudias, surprising everyone, proposes a Rush Duel with Rovian to decide UTS's fate. The duel is hampered by Varivelgear's damaged state, limiting Yudias to only two monster zones. Rovian gains an early advantage using "Confiscation" and "Prophecy Phrase" to disrupt Yudias' hand. Yudias, however, receives unexpected aid when Zuwijo's "Galactica Xiphos" arrives and with his new ace monster "Vanishing Heliacal Riser" he is able to counter Rovian's equip spell with his own. The episode ends with the arrival of an alien on Rovian's hat announcing the arrival of The Great King of Terror and Yuamu discovers the Space Treasure hidden beneath UTS. What are your thoughts? Yesterday's trip to Planet Funk Con in Davenport with my family was a total blast! Even though we only made it on Sunday, we maximized our time exploring the buzzing exhibit hall and soaking up the electric atmosphere. I was especially star struck meeting Tracy Lynn Cruz, the Yellow In Space Ranger, along with Michael Hollander and Sarah Joy Brown from VR Troopers, and the legendary Power Rangers writer, Tony Oliver. While we missed the panels, the whole experience was fantastic, thanks to the amazing Planet Funk Con staff who hosted us as press and clearly know how to run a fantastic event.
