Hollywood Demon dives deep into the darker side of Power Rangers in its third episode, "Dark Side Of Power Rangers." Starting with the series' meteoric rise to fame, the episode features firsthand accounts from Audrey Dubois, who shares her unsettling experiences during the pilot, including the neglectful treatment of performers. The episode unveils the untold story of Thuy Trang's courageous stand against executives, which ultimately led to her firing alongside Asj and Walter Jones. The episode explores the struggles of actors as they were exploited and controlled by Saban, switching them out if they asked for more money. It also chronicles the infamous Universal Studios incident and the anti-violence campaigns that plagued the show. Then the special goes into Asj and Ricardo midina stories, but spends a more time on the tragic story of Ricardo Medina and the circumstances surrounding his crime, alongside Pua's story. It touches on Erik Frank's tragic death, as well as the car accident that claimed Thuy Trang's life, featuring a raw account from her friend Angela Rockwood who was in the car during the accident. The second half of the episode focuses on Jason David Frank's legacy, his struggles with fame, and a chilling account of a convention incident where a man attempted to harm him. Tammy Frank speaks candidly about JDF's infidelities and filing for divorce, leading up to his death and the toxicology report that revealed a deadly combination of drugs and underlying mental health issues. The episode closes with the bittersweet acknowledgement that despite the immense hardships faced, most actors don't regret being Power Rangers, reminding us that even superheroes are not immune to human vulnerabilities.
