Born during a mammoth hunt, Koda's life was forever changed when he found an Energem, granting him resistance to aging. After sacrificing himself to save his brother, he was frozen in ice for 100,000 years until discovered by Kendall and Chase, who thawed him out.With his caveman ways, Koda is a fish-out-of-water in the present day, but his loyalty, strength, and sharp survival instincts make him a valuable Ranger. Despite struggling with modern technology and customs, Koda is determined to adapt to his new era, speaking English in a simplistic way and learning to overcome his fears.

Kendall Morgan is the intelligent and confident proprietor of the Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum, where she leads paleontology digs with her assistants Chase and Koda. After acquiring the Purple Energem, she becomes the new Dino Charge Purple Ranger, using her scientific expertise to create auxiliary Dino Chargers and the E-Tracer to aid the Rangers in battle.
