The Fascinating Podcast

The StoryMen welcome friend Adam Peck. We consider the Alabama church meeting in a Buffalo Wild Wings, and what that means for worship. Adam also tells us about his project designed to help returning soldiers reconnect with their families.

The StoryMen welcome back our friend Rabbi Eliyahu Fink to discuss Ridley Scott's new super-sized blockbuster EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS. Since we were all pretty underwhelmed by the star-studded epic, we talk about what was missing, and why NOAH was oh so much better. As Eli says, "This episode is much more entertaining than the movie!" It's also about an hour shorter!

The StoryMen welcome back Ironic Mom Leanne Shirtliffe. After they discuss the merits of the Christmas classic It's a Wonderful Life, Leanne runs down some of the very worst toys of 2014. Leanne tells us about her new books, and joins us in some excellent Pop Culture Picks of the Week!

The StoryMen welcome 4th StoryMan Aaron Kretzmann back in front of the mic. Since it's the Christmas season, they evaluate the classic film Christmas Vacation. They move on to discuss Pope Francis' recent visit to Turkey, and then hear about Aaron's new venture Phos Studios.

The StoryMen welcome hip-hop artist Da MAC to talk about his new album, SUPREMACY. Da MAC shares about his career and what's gone into the album.

The StoryMen take some time to reflect on what they're grateful for. The conversation turns to Thanksgiving traditions - real and made up. Then, since we're talking about founding myths, we investigate recent admissions by the Mormon church that Joseph Smith was in fact a polygamist. Finally, we engage the conversation about the "Stand and Greet" time many churches employ, but many people hate. Plus, we introduce our Pop Culture Picks of the Week!

The StoryMen tell some jokes, and then dive into a very serious subject: if aliens do exist (of course they do!), are they fallen? Does Jesus' death and resurrection redeem them, too? A fun conversation about exotheology turns to how we think about those who are different from us, and what makes us human.
