The Apostle, also called Didymus, was one of the Twelve Apostles. According to the New Testament he is commonly known as the doubting saint because of his distrust of Jesus' resurrection when first told. He later confessed his faith, "My Lord and my God." 

We've seen too many 'law and order' themed TV shows about a deathbed confession to count. "The Father knows who dunnit but he ain't squealing." There's a very strict seal that prohibits a Catholic Priest from ever sharing a confession. Sorry Hollywood.

Indianapolis Cathedral Catholic High School will fire a gay teacher to remain in the local archdiocese. The other, Brebeuf Jesuit, has respectfully declined. Brebeuf's leadership described the involvement as "unprecedented."

The Archdiocese of Detroit announced a new policy to cease youth sporting activities on Sundays, in a renewed effort to “reclaim Sunday” as one for worship, rest and family time. Vigneron said, “In our time, Sunday has slowly lost its pride of place.” 

This past weekend I was released from a rehab (physical therapy) facility near me. I needed additional time to exercise and get comfortable with my new hip. Although the staff took tremendous care during my stay, I can assure there's no place like home!

I was a Christian Brother for thirty-one years. I greatly enjoyed the Christian Brother community and teaching high school. I made life long friendships. However, I felt the need to move in to another ministry. I wanted to be ordained a Catholic Priest.

A Catholic Priest wears a lot of hats. One of my favorites was as a police chaplain in Watsonville, CA. It was a fascinating job. Not unlike what we provide as priests, our brothers and sisters in blue need to be ready to serve and assist.
