As Christians we are told in 1 John 3:1-3, that we are to live with a hope that fully embraces that we are children of God; that we will be like Jesus; and that we will see Him as He really is. We are then told that because we have this hope, we are to live a life of purity; because the One we long to see and be conformed into His image, is Pure!

So how pure is pure enough for the believer? 

Let's talk about it.

In the gospel of John chapter 6, we see Jesus telling us that He is the "Bread of Life"! He (Jesus) tells us in the same chapter to not labor for the food that perishes, but to labor for the food which leads to everlasting life. He is that Food, which leads to life! We could say it like this; Jesus is the only one who will bring satisfaction, along with sustaining our lives.

Usually when we think of the word Jealous; we think of being envious toward someone who is perceived as having an advantage in some way compared to us. We think of someone being hostile toward a rival of some sort. What if I told you that there is a use of this word jealous that is actually a good connotation, and one we should actually aspire to? 

In 2 Corinthians 11:2 Paul tells the Corinthian church that he is Jealous for their relationship with the Lord! He did not say he was jealous of; as if he were envious of some perceived advantage they held with the Lord. No, Paul longed for them to go deeper, and build an even stronger relationship with Jesus.

In this episode we will look at this scripture and more, and see how it is ok for us to be jealous for (not jealous of) the success, growth, and blessings of others; just as the Lord our God is Jealous for us!

Jesus in John 17 prays to the Father concerning His Disciples; which today would include, you and I. He prays that the Father would not take them out of the world, but would keep them from the evil one (John 17:15). He goes on to declare that just as He (Jesus) is not of the world, meaning their fabric; make-up; customary ways; neither are the disciples of the world. He asks the Father to set them apart by His Truth, and finally He declares to the Father that He is sending His disciples into the world, the same way the Father sent Him into the world.

Jesus was, and is the answer to every issue both personal, and collective that we all face! The question is; what part of that answer has He called me to be, and to who?
