Those souls are remembered and reveared in a very special way today as we think about how our lives were inspired and enriched by their presence.  Even our friends who were sent to us by God himself, to encourage us when our family for what ever the reason,could not be there.  Those souls, those very kind hearted souls, are God's gifts to us.  I can remember so many that God had given to me in my youth, my neighbors especially exhibited Christ in the form of giving when to give was vital in another persons life.  My old neighbor Linda use to walk me home every day from school, and a few days a week my parents arranged for her to assist me with home work assignments that I had been struggling with.  She went above and beyond as a neighbor and as a friend.  And as I grew older both parents worked weekends and a very dear friend of my grandmothers, use to watch my younger brother and on for the day.  I remember it being a nice visit each time with Jean, she was elderly but very sweet, very kind, and we were all very grateful.  She opened up her home to us, she fed us delicious sandwiches, and we had nice conversations and enjoyed playing with her puppy.  You may have had friends that have chosen to help you when help was needed, I hope that you remember them today, on all souls day, and say a little prayer in thanksgiving for God giving them to you when they were needed the most.  I would imagine that Jean a widow all alone in her elder years loved having my brother and I visit every weekend for the day,  just maybe my sibling in I were the exact blessing that she had needed at that point in her life and didn't even realize it until we were old enough and responsible enough to be on our own.
