Jason Cousineau and Eric Renderking Fisk discuss organizations and individuals' efforts to shut down the conversation about The Lab Leak Hypothisys and the dangers of Gain Of Function experiments on deadly pathogens. Why do these people try to discourage and even ban discussions about where SARS-COVID-2 originated?

Why is there an effort to squelch conversations about the implications to the world if this was indeed a genetically modified virus?

'Trigger Warning: In this episode, I share some raw emotions after learning that my abuser passed away. Descriptions of abuse and violence occur after the 8-minute mark, Eric.'

How should we react when we hear the news of the death of a controversial celebrity we dislike? How do we handle the news of the passing of someone in our personal lives who has brought us a lot of misery and pain?

What we’ve learned recently is how we react to news items says more about ourselves than we would like to admit. News stories like the passing of Rush Limbaugh or Ruth Bader Ginsburg served as an Ink-Blot/Rorschach test or a glimpse into our personalities, raw emotions, and thoughts.

But what about the death of someone in our own lives who were influential in positive or negative ways? How we react to the passing of a tormentor or bully says as much about us as our reactions to the passing of a favorite teacher, relative, or friend would. These trying times are tests to our characters.

Jason Cousineau and Eric Renderking Fisk discuss the latest developments from Wuhan, China, during the first week of the World Health Organization's investigation into the origins of the Covid-19 virus. Peter Daszak from EcoHealth Alliance has been the strongest opponent against The Lab Leak Hypothesis has suddenly made the statement that theory can't be discounted quite yet. Why the change of heart?

Jay and Eric revisit the events that led to The Obama Administration's moratorium on Gain Of Function Research on pathogens. Was the lab accident with a highly infectious strain of Anthrax in June 2014 at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention a harbinger for things to come?

And what about the reports The United States State Department intercepted about lab workers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology becoming severely sick mere weeks before the first reports of the deadly outbreak in that specific city in China in the autumn of 2019?

Jason Cousineau and Eric Fisk from The Fedora Chronicles discuss the passing of Larry King and what made him a good (and bad) interviewer. We compare his career with other great broadcasters and commentators like Harlan Ellison, Art Bell, and Jay Severin from Boston.

Also, what could every podcaster learn from people like Larry King? How vital is preproduction or pre-show research? Why should you thoroughly vet your guests even before asking them to come on your show? And how to ask great follow-up questions.

Jason Cousineau and Eric Fisk fulfill a promise made to listeners years ago; to do an episode about President Dwight D. Eisenhower's Farewell Address on the 60th Anniversary of that occasion that finally arrived earlier this month.

The conversation about President Eisenhower's final speech from The White House is in context with President Kennedy's Inauguration days afterward and the meaning of the phrase Deep State, and how it's evolved in the past five a half decades. We also discuss how the shadow of The Deep State looms over everything in the realm of divisive politics, including the swearing-in of the new President, Joe Biden.

Jay and Eric also debate whether or not The President of The United States is Your President or My President, and the dangers of deifying candidates and elected officials.

Phoebe Darqueling returns to The Fedora Chronicles Radio Show to discuss her most recent book; “Fairy Tales Punk'd: An Illustrated Mythpunk Anthology.”

What are the origins of original fairy tales that have been sanitized and softened for modern audiences? How did these dark cautionary folk tales of ancient lore change while being transcribed by the likes of The Brothers Grimm? And how well do we really know “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Pinocchio?”

How does an author take an original fairy tale and turn it around and repurpose it for the realm of Steampunk or Dieselpunk?

From Amazon: Steampunk, Dieselpunk, and Cyberpunk - oh my! If you like fractured fables and mythic mash-ups, you'll love this collection of reimagined fairy tales by 13 international authors. You'll find retellings of stories you recognize as well as a few you've probably never seen before, all of them with a punk subgenre twist.

Jason Cousineau and Eric Fisk discuss how The State of The Union has reached this all-time low as of this recording and how quickly things devolved further since last week's episode.

We start with the debate about censorship and its mere definition; what are the short term gains and long term losses of banning public figures from social media platforms and removing social media platforms altogether? What really happens when you ban, deplatform, and vilify 'bad people with bad ideas?'

The ACLU makes a case against silencing dissenting voices on both sides of the political aisle. Also, an honest conversation about who is ultimately responsible for your actions?

Jason Cousineau and Eric Fisk discuss the frustrations behind the protests during the past year, leading to the riot at The Nation's Capitol when the Electoral College results were certified. Why are there so many people on all aspects of the political spectrum who feel disenfranchised and under-represented?

With all the money The Federal Government spent on security since September 11th, 2001, the United States' Capitol Building so quickly taken by these protestors? Why were U.S. Capitol Police unprepared for this, and some officers were taking selfies with protestors after they broke in?

But first, a conversation about making a better podcast: Spoiler Alert - the key to making a better podcast is to make better episodes.
