Welcome to what we call Baby Horror!

Oh! This is a fun episode. What was your first scary movie? Was it a horror film or something else that terrified you? This week, we discuss how we are introduced to horror movies, often as children. As well as, the horror that is geared towards children. We share how we dealt as children with what scared us. We explore the movies that introduced us to grief. And let's not forget television and books geared for children that explore horror and grief.

How do the decisions we make impact us? How do our parents shape who we are? How does grief and mental health interact? This week, we discuss mother-son, family and friendship relationships, how parents influence their children, the portrayal of mothers and women in film and the interplay of grief and life, pet losses, and, of course, how grief manifests in our daily lives.

What happens when you lose your mother, not through death but through life experiences? Billy’s mom leaves the family, leaving Billy grieving his mother. Anger is a normal grief response. Billy takes it to the extreme. We don't only grieve death. We grieve life losses. In this week's episode, we touch on the lack of parental involvement, parental relationships, and affluence. We also discuss the role of women in the world and societal expectations. Lastly, we talk about traumatic grief and ambiguous loss.
