The term "overdose" does have a use when defining prescription  or over the counter medications which have instructions for safe use which were ignored.  But it has no place describing illicit drugs.

Just like alcohol, illicit drugs have no instructions for safe use which makes injuries as a result of illicit substances POISONINGS,  NOT "over-dosing".  

Start calling them what they are instead of what they are not!
