In my final talk with Antara and James, we discussed one of my favorite, but most sensitive and controversial, topics: How do people with different theological beliefs come to similar moral conclusions?
I think this topic can easily upset a lot of people the second they hear a differing theological opinion on an idea. Still, my hope with doing multiple seasons of this podcast is to demonstrate to people how it can be possible to sit down with others who have different “labels” and see how we can find common friendship and shared conclusions about being kind to one another. All while using the foundation of treating others as we wish to be treated.
This conversation really culminates why I love these two so much and what I wanted this podcast to illustrate. Over the six-year span of this project, I wanted to show the diverse range of friendships I had developed and the diverse backgrounds they all came from. With that, I wanted to show how I used Bahá'í principles to find common ground with all of them, regardless of labels.
