Kimberly Lee, and turkey calling champions William Ridgley and Stanley Wymbs join the show to discuss what was an amazing event. Between the two, William and Stanley took home three trophies from The Masters turkey calling championship. They share what went into the victories. Kimberly, the architect of the event, discusses what made this one so special. Also, 15-year-old Miles Kearney won both the Youth Big-Buck and Truck-Buck Shootouts, becoming the first competitor to ever accomplish that feat.

The 2026 edition of the Peach State's premier sportsman's show is set for July 24-26 at LakePoint Sports in Emerson. It's a three-day celebration of the Georgia outdoors with numerous giveaways, shopping opportunities, seminars and iconic special guests in the outdoor space. GON events coordinator Kimberly Lee, 30-30 Ministries founder Brad Gill and John Browning of Pistol Creek Outdoors join the show to share unique perspectives on the GON Outdoor Blast. Each has a significant role in the event, and they tell The Field Notes audience why it's a can't-miss event and what they can expect.

He studied them at the University of Georgia and has since worked at UGA and with the National Deer Association (formerly the Quality Deer Management Association) as a deer biologist. Brian, now with Hunt Stand, joins The Field Notes Podcast to discuss his professional career, one that has been dedicated to studying deer and has taken him all over the world, even to Australia. He talks Chronic Wasting Disease, land/habitat management, tactics, bow hunting and so much more.

Chris Smith, a Rome native, joins The Field Notes Podcast to provide some perspective. Chris started his career in the corporate world but due to his love of the outdoors, especially fishing, he became a fisheries biologist. Having experiences on both "sides" of it, he's uniquely qualified to break it all down.
