Jalen Brunson and KAT are the co-headlines for me. Brunson’s 30 pts + ability to close the game out in the 4th quarter meant so much for this Knicks franchise looking for its first NBA Championship victory since 1973.
KAT’s offensive versatility and strong defense on Victor Wembanyama was essential.
Wemby posted 26 points and 12 rebounds for the Spurs, but he finished 6-for-21 from the field, and was not efficient at all.
“I was bad tonight,” Wembanyama said afterards in his postgame availability. “It’s not more complicated than that.”
Game 2 is Friday night in San Antonio.
