  • The Fierce Female Network: Lady Gaga VIP Opener Kristen Karma
Kristen Karma’s music career has already blossomed in the pop/dance scene in her hometown of Vancouver. Now located in Toronto, Kristen Karma is no stranger to the ever growing music industry.
Even though much of her formative years were devoted to a theoretical and exacting world of ballet lessons, Air Cadets, Military Marching Bands, and The Royal Conservatory of Music, some of the only evidence that remains of her past is the neon pink tulle that shoots out from under her black corset. It’s undeniable—Kristen Karma is a band nerd. But she is a band nerd who might punch you in the face for showing up late to practice.
Her current single “Party Heroes” has her hard pounding electronic dance sound that is sure to bring your to your feet. The clever constructed lyrics and catchy beats combined heavy powerful guitar solos will leave you wanting more. Already garnering rave reviews with the infectious sounds throughout,  this sees Kristen moving into a new share of her music career.
Kristen Karma is taking control of her own destiny with a Gold Award in one hand (personally given to her by HRH Prince Edward in 2009) and a black corset in the other. She effortlessly walks the line between an organized and responsibly rehearsed persona who has spent years studying the theory behind her music, and her alter ego who cannot refrain from gallivanting all over the stage during her pop/electronic performances. Karma not only wields a certificate in Audio Engineering from Hot Sole Music, but has studied voice with Judith Rabinovitch, who has worked with the likes of Avril Lavigne and Sarah McLachlan.
In 2013, Kristen Karma was selected as one of two performers to play the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball After-party and open for Tour DJ/Lady Gaga BFF Lady Starlight in Vancouver. With rave reviews from her performance, she then went on to work with lil’Jon on her single Sirens.

  • Consumer Protection: Pace Your Purchase And Responsibility
Do you ever feel rushed to purchase something?  It bugs me to no end when I am looking for something, and the person selling the item lose the sale with me because they are in to big of a hurry to make a sale.  A saleperson should make you feel valued, and appreciated before receiving your money.   It is all a matter of Human Behavior, we naturally get turned off by pushy people in life, and business.
Are you communicating your needs to the company you are in business with?  Are you able to articulate what you are shopping for?  These are key points in making sure your experience is an excellent one.   The whole point behind these series of broadcast is to ensure consumers are armed with information, information, information.   The more information you have before your shopping experience the better your outcome will be after the purchase.
What are you doing to make sure you will be happy with the item you are purchasing?  How many times have you purchased something, and had to take the item back to the store? If you did try to return an item did you have a hassle?
As a consumer each and every one should receive what they have purchased.   I detest when some one is being ripped off or cheated out of a product or service.

  • The Fierce Female Network Presents NaTasha Deen
NaTasha Deen is our guest today.
These days, Natasha writes for kids and teens, and she loves mixing mystery, action, and creepy with a whole lot of humour. Her books have been described as “gripping” (School Library Connection), “engaging” (CM Magazine) and “feel good” (VOYA).
The funny, sad, embarrassing moments of her life aren’t just part of her books, they’re part of her presentations, too. Natasha loves using all the times she felt different to show people that at heart, everyone is the same. And her final confession? Writing is the hardest thing she’ll ever do, but she loves it because writing is story, and stories change the world

Do you believe you have been wronged?  I seriously want to know about.   I believe we should spread the word on companies, and salesperson who price gouge, let me know so it can be put on blast to warn other shoppers.   Please feel free to contact us if you have had an issue with a company:

  • The Fierce Female Network Presents Canadian Editor and Publisher Ellen Michelle
Emerging editor Ellen Michelle trained in all types of editing. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Publishing from Simon Fraser University and an Editing Certificate also through SFU. I am currently a student in the Master of Publishing program at SFU, which I will finish in April 2018. I also attend many workshops and seminars held by the Editors’ Association of Canada and various local universities.
I enjoy all facets of the publishing industry. Through schooling, internships, and other work opportunities I have gained experience in magazine publishing, marketing for book publishers, editing, and book design. As I started to explore the various career opportunities in the publishing industry further, I realized that producing a high-quality book requires more than just good editing, but it’s a great place to start. I became attracted to editing as a profession because, as an avid reader, I was tired of spotting spelling and grammatical errors and inconsistencies in published works; I want to be the one to stop that from happening.  My experience in the other areas of the publishing industry have made me become a better editor because I know what steps have been taken prior to and will be taken after the manuscript is in my hands, and I have the experience to help with those additional steps.
I am qualified to edit fiction and non-fiction manuscripts, and have experience with both.
