IN A WORLD OF RAP MUSIC, THEE ORIGINAL GUYS (a.k.a. THEE O.G.’S) have managed to make a mark with a distinctive old school funk style.

The band’s sound is a blend of various influences, channeling the energy of funk-rock with a unique twist of soul, reminiscent of some of the hottest funk bands from the 1970’s. The group’s most recent studio effort, “She Aint No Freak”, stands out as a really fantastic example of their artistry, and flow, giving the audience a strong sense of natural character, tight musicianship and edgy lyrics that are not afraid to challenge what is probably the hardest question in relationships, sexual compatibility. She Aint No Freak shows a raw vulnerability and boldness that is subtle yet not afraid to uncover a touchy subject, which is a rarity for a genre other than rap. The way the song is produced and written, every time the song is heard it unfolds even more clearly, exposing more of the story that may have been missed by listening only once or twice. Fans of artists such as Cameo, James Brown, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many 1970’s era funk bands are most definitely going to enjoy this particular release, not only because of how the music plays out and unfolds, but also because of how the entirety of the arrangement feels so relatable and well-produced. “She Aint No Freak” is a really impressive calling card for a band with something to say.

My name is Sonita. I’m a 23 year old of Indian and Jamaican heritage. Music is one of my many goals. My main goal is to change my life.

I am a singer/songwriter living in North London. I started singing at the age of 5 and would perform at school concerts up until I finished sixth form. I had no clue where to go from there. That's when my journey really began.

Being inspired by musicals, specifically ‘In the Heights’, I so badly wanted to find my voice in 2021 and began training with City Academy. Once that ended I auditioned to train with the West End Musical Theatre school and managed to secure myself half a scholarship. There are many artists that inspire me but the main ones are Jazmine Sullivan, Demi Lovato and Leona Lewis.

Montreal, Canada-based storyteller and real world observer, REALCITYFAME is of Caribbean/Canadian decent. Bringing songs with smooth jazz vibes and hardnosed lyrics’. His content sounds uncompromised, and he seems as focused as ever. The artist’s strength is in his lyrical depth, and he has an obvious knack for transcending either his region or the current musical landscape. To that end, this artist may well measure up as a high mark of hip-hop by year’s end.

REALCITYFAME makes as good a use of production as could, and he has no doubt benefited from the top-tier beats.

His records carry the productions’ most appealing fingerprints: a knack for minimalist funkiness and well-channeled silky smoothness. REALCITYFAME has a refined a platform for his flow, as he jumps from bouncy double time to his laid back drawl with each track. His ability to switch immediately from upbeat nostalgia, to a sinister street drama tone is a testament to his incredible technical agility.

Dense and verse-heavy, most of the best lines in each track are immediately noticeable, thanks to the allure of REALCITYFAME’s flow and vocal timbre. The emcee is both believably cool and lyrically vicious as he relentlessly unfolds his poetically inclined narrative, over a groove inducing beat. The rhyming and wordplay are top notch, as REALCITYFAME does not waste a single rhyme, getting his message across.

SETH BUNTING

He grew up in Boone County, West Virginia, which he attributes to making him who he is in a ‘southern hospitality personality way’. The churches of the appalaches created the powerful southern-soul voice Seth carries through all his music even today. He stepped onto a musical theatre stage at five years old; his first "entertainment" job and never stepped down. He began writing songs three years later around the same time he entered and won a Gospel Music singing contest. He recorded two Gospel CDs and a Holiday CD before he turned fourteen and he continued singing Southern Gospel music for nine years!

Questioning the Ambience is about changing your interpretation of life, with a change in environment and friends/family. It's about coming into your own skin.

Give Me One Reason is one of my favourite song's by Tracy Chapman. I remember when it came out back in the 90s, I bought the CD and that song was on repeat for days. It seemed only fitting to do a cover of the song and add a little of my own style to it. The track was released today, March 13th.
