Ricky kicks off our new topic, BOMB MOMS, with the Palme d’Or winning musical, “Dancer in the Dark”, by Lars Von Trier. Björk, Iceland’s national treasure, stars as the lead and gives one of the greatest performances in cinema history. The film is a beautiful and heartbreaking experience of a mother doing everything she can to provide for her child. After a good cry, we struggled to keep it together as we discussed the intricacies of the film’s acting, musical numbers, story, and other interesting creative choices. It truly is a one of a kind masterpiece. Enjoy!

The boy finds out that they are filled with great stories about their exploits and adventures and there is more to the story than meets the eye! Meow Meow, thrice. Welcome to Cinema Cat Part 3! This week was Ricky’s pick and he went to the MOON (Muta) with how many cats are in this film. With another Ghibli film, we watched, “The Cat Returns,” tonight. This film was delightful, wacky, feline, and beautiful. There are so many cats in this film that it puts the previous two snobs films to shame. We talk about all the hard hitting questions: What kind of cat would you be? What cat would you eat cake and tea with? Who is your favorite cat? You know, the crazy obvious questions you ask on a Cinema Cats episode. Sammy joins us and becomes the most recurring guest. Meow, meow!! AGAIN!! Today we dive into Ethan’s pick for CINEMA CATS month and he chose the brilliant and groundbreaking film, Children of Men. Now I know what you’re thinking, “Eric, these movies aren’t cat movies!! Why are you guys picking them??” Well Snobbies, I had the same thought…trust me…BUT! There are three cats in this film and that’s more than I had for my pick soooooooo NO COMPLAINING! We invite EVAN onto the pod and he talks about the film with us. Meow, meow, hissssssssssss. That’s right snobbiest, it’s CINEMA CATS TIME!! This month we are picking films with cats or are VERY loosely connected to cats. Ricky, a snob or cat lover, is very excited about this genre. Eric is less than pleased. Today we listen to Eric’s pick, directed by the great Robert Wise, director of great films like West Side Story and The Sound of Music comes “The Curse of The Cat People.” This film is a sequel to the wacky film “Cat People.” Eric admits that Cat People had more cat content and that he messed up by picking the sequel…oh well. Ricky is gone, Jared explains the deeper meaning behind one of the great films of the 40’s, Cookie Cat talks about Budweiser a lot, and Ethan shares sentimental stories. It’s a good ep people. Enjoy!
