His wife, Megan, led him to the Lord while they were both in college at Ohio State and they now have four boys. As a pastor, consultant, and resource creator, Peter is called to assist in mobilizing ministers in various spheres of culture through kingdom-focused mentorship, perspective, and articulation. SJ Newell, also known as “The Objective Believer”, is a man on an incredible journey. As he would discover new things in scripture and share it with other believers, he was often met with a slew of objections claiming what he was excited about sounded like heresy, Word of Faith teaching, or they’d attach the name of a famous Charismatic or Pentecostal preacher. In his words, these interactions were “weird and depressing”. But they led him to begin to examine the claims both for and against what he had come to believe about scripture, separating emotion from the analysis.
