It is a brand new year. Your calendar is a blank slate. How will we fill all those empty white boxes on our calendars?

Jesus asked his disciples, "Who do people say that I am?" Many have tried to answer that question. So, who is Jesus? John, the Apostle, offers us some insight here!

We live between the already (Christ's first advent) and the not yet (Christ's second advent). So, what does it mean to live in the middle? We find some encouragement from a Christmas song that was never intended to be a Christmas song!

This week, we look at the classic Christmas song, "O Come, All Ye Faithful." This year, perhaps, as you listen to the lyrics or sing the song, you don't feel faithful, joyful, or triumphant. The good news is, God is always faithful. Through Christ, we can be faithful also, and with faithfulness comes joy and triumph!

There are so many fun aspects of Christ. There is the lights, trees, cookies, elves, and hot chocolate...but wait...there's myrrh. We want to remember throughout the Christmas season there is so much "myrrh" to Christmas! Each week, leading up to Christmas, we will look at a Christmas carol and examine the timeless truths that the song communicates. This week we discuss The First Noel, but what in the world is a Noel anyway?

As Americans, most of us have our basic needs met. Often, we have many of our wants met as well. Yet, at times, we forget to be thankful! As we close out the book of Philippians, we are challenged to be thankful and content people.

Philippians 4:10-20

Do you ever think about...what you...think about? Philippians 4:6 reminds us that we should not be anxious about anything. Instead, we should learn to practice thinksgiving! 

Integrity is who you are when no one else is looking. We see this modeled in the life and character of a man named Daniel! Bryan Bozman reminds us of the call to be people of integrity!

Have you ever laughed when someone slipped or tripped? Shame on you! It is easy sometimes to lose our footing, and then we hit the ground. However, as Paul begins Philippians chapter four, he reminds us to stand firm. As Christians, we have a firm foundation. In Philippians 4:1-6, Pauls tells us how to stand firm and live a life of stability on the foundation of Christ!

Tolkien once wrote, 'It’s a dangerous business, going out of your door. 'You step into the Road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no telling where you might be swept off to.'" It is easy to be swept off course! There are so many deceptive ideas and false teachings. At the close of Philippians 3, Paul reminds us that we run with other believers, run from evil, and we run toward Christ!
